While I think that Juciy J might have gone too far in bashing the school, I did get the feeling from current students that it was more competitive (not in a good way) and less team-based than other schools that I have applied to. My interview process was also not greatly positive, and I got a conflicting vibe from several students about how well the school worked with its students.
It was also tough because I had one interview with a current student who literally said they had no real say in the interview process as they were on the bottom of the hierarchy. It was a bit frustrating as I spent a lot of time and money to travel and go to the school so I felt marginalized as other interviewees got current physicians working with the school. I tried to make the best of the interview process, but I am betting others that had only one interview with a current student felt a bit shorted as well. I think that interviewing with a current student is great, but I think that having a balanced system and also getting to interview with a current faculty member makes the process much fairer to those interviewing.
Also, it has one of the highest debt loads for graduating students. Because my experience was not stellar and I had some amazingly positive experiences at other schools, I will be withdrawing. I do not think it is the worst school in the world, but my experience was just okay and a bit negative. Wish you all good luck, and perhaps I am just not a good fit for this school. I have acceptances from a few other schools so I will be going there.
