2014-2015 Indiana University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
They haven't released what the new MCAT score cutoff will be but it should be around 510. I am in the same boat, unless they open more sites.

The Indy interview day yesterday was amazing and I met so many fantastic people. I hope we all get in and if so, I really can't wait to see you all again in August! (wishful thinking)

my interview was awful. the whole thing felt very unwelcoming.

but I think semester (non-block) curriculum would be awful so Indy is out...and idk about being at a regional campus due to location. So im not passionate about IU and I had a bad interview so 'twas not meant to be. Good luck to everyone though! Hope you have/had a better experience than me!

Has anyone who interviewed on January 14 or after that date heard anything?

Does anyone know what the meaning of "in process" means in the portal? It was updated to this status after my interview.

I am pretty sure mine said this pre-interview and that yours change to "under consideration" once your app is ready for review by the committee. Just be sure you have all your letters and materials turned in and it should be ready for review.

It's just weird because I have all my green check marks in the portal and I contacted the office and they said as long as you have the check marks than it's all good. I will call tomorrow and ask if there is a reason why my status is not updated to "under consideration". Thank you.

Yeah, mine was like that for a little bit too. You should be fine, but a call won't hurt. No problem and good luck!

Mine was like that too for a while after my interview. Then I sent them an updated transcript and within a few days it switched to "under consideration". I don't know if that means anything, but if you have new grades to share that might be it!

Seeing as yesterday was a federal holiday and the 15th was a Sunday I would guess if any of us are going to hear anything it will be today.

Hi everyone! I hope you are all having a great week! I was reading through this thread and noticed a lot of anxious waiting so I thought maybe I could help put some of you at ease. It is my understanding that decisions may not be made until the beginning of next month. I know most of us hold on to that 15th of the month with a death grip. If you hear something this week or next AWESOME! I hope it is nothing but good news! If you don't, please don't panic! Maybe they are saving the best (YOU) for last! I hope you all get wonderful news soon! Deep breath and JUST KEEP SWIMMING!!

What makes you say they won't be made Til next month? Womp womp

Hi Vivalarevolution! That is just what I was told may happen. As with anything, nothing is set in stone so I could be wrong or things could change, but I guess I was hoping to relax anyone who doesn't hear anything this week and panics. Just hoping to allow a few deep breaths to take place.

Thanks DrP1991. Some people have said that they checked their applicant portal and received their status before the letter arrived. I hope everyone gets good news in the following weeks!!

did you interview in Jan or Feb? My early post about maybe not hearing until March was about that.

Ahh okay. I interviewed in January for Rural at Terre Haute and they gave us the impression that that program was going to start making decisions for this month. I believe @doc111111 is also under consideration for rural. I have not heard anything either and my portal still has the under consideration message. So I would speculate that if decisions were mailed out on Friday afternoon it will either come in the mail today, or we should just sit back and wait until March. Good luck everyone!

My thoughts exactly.

Interviewed 10/1 - still nothing (instate ~30 minutes from IUPUI).

Checked my mail today hoping for a surprise, but nothing from IU. I'm curious as to whether or not anyone else has received anything today. Usually by now there are a few instate people who have posted with an acceptance letter. Hopefully tomorrow maybe?

2 of my acquaintances got acceptance letters today

So I'm kind of freaking out as well, I interviewed 11/05, got placed under consideration in December. And I haven't heard back anything as yet.
Hang in there imlonewolf. No news in good news right? Under consideration means that they can review you at the meeting so that is GREAT NEWS! But we have to remember that adcom is considering hundreds of us while working their regular jobs so they can't possibly consider all of us at once. I hope for their sake they don't have long excruciating meetings, that would be brutal. Plus you would rather be considered as the first person at a meeting and not the last right!? All positive thoughts. This is going to be a great year for everyone!

Was there any financial aid information in the acceptance (i.e. scholarships), or does that come separately?
