Now ya'll got me curious. What does the harsh rejection letter say? I want to be offended.
The Admissions Committee has carefully reviewed your application for admission to New York Medical College. We regret we are not able to
offer you a place in the class entering in August of 2015.
Acceptance to the School of Medicine is highly competitive. This year our program received more than 13,000 applications to ultimately seat a class of 195. Applicants are subject to a holistic review of their full credentials including a careful examination of their academic preparation
(MCAT and GPA) as well as the quality of their foundational experiences which we consider to be important for a future career in medicine.
The Admissions Committee does not feel your credentials meet this threshold at this time.
Students who may not be initially successful in gaining acceptance to medical school often re-apply. If you plan to do so, we encourage you to
carefully assess which parts of your application might be strengthened such as improving your MCAT scores, enrolling and excelling in graduate
or post-baccalaureate courses, participating in medically-related and/or research activities as well as community service of all kinds. It is
strongly suggested you speak with your pre-med advisor or other faculty who know you, and with whom you have had recent contact. These
individuals are in the best position to offer you advice.
We thank you for your specific interest in New York Medical College and extend to you our best wishes for the future.
