We haven't, but hoping to split a ride back to O'Hare after the 12-4:30 interview session on 10/20

Ah okay - I'm flying in/out of Midway.. Last minute fares were cheap!

If you guys want to do something on Sunday, let me know! I'll probably head in to the city!

Quick question. Does anyone know if everybody gets the "primary screening complete" email or if that is in essence a small pool email?

Anyone here (who had an earlier interview) broken down to the point of asking admissions when we'll actually be hearing back? My interview was 9/5 and I received an email the following Thursday that said 4-6 weeks. By interview date that would be today but based receipt of the email it's 10/23. The anticipation is killing me!

Same here man! Can't wait to hear back, would absolutely love to attend here.

I just accepted an offer at another school and released my interview scheduled for Monday (10/20). I know this is last minute but hopefully someone will be able to move up their date if they want. Good luck!

My interview was 9/5 also! I had sent an email asking when we would hear back before they emailed the 4-6 weeks and they responded to the first one saying 6-8 weeks. Then I got the one that was 4-6 weeks.

I heard that last year people heard around 10/29. I think it'll be closer to the end of the month for sure. But I'm right there with you about the anticipation!

They said they did during the interview, but I just got an email back saying they only accepted updates for institutional actions, legal actions, or military discharges

3.8/ 30/ complete in late July but I'm from Texas. Does being from Texas nullify my hopes of receiving an ii here?

I've been told that since most Tx residents matriculate to Texas, it's almost a waste of time for OOS schools to interview TX residents.

I hope they don't think so, since I'm a Texas resident, too...

The school has no bias against particular regions. As a potentially related aside, homophobic, transphobic, racist, sexist, and otherwise discriminatory attitudes are not welcome at RFUMS, so provided you don't fit into one of those categories, the school may be a good fit!

Do you happen to know when the first batch of acceptances go out? Has the committee met yet?

Wow, real quick to throw out the stereotypical assumption that someone from Texas must be homophobic, racist etc.

As someone who is clearly an advocate of the LGBT community I'd hope you be not so quick to cast judgement. Implied or otherwise.

Hahah I don't think that had anything to do with you being from Texas.

Life is unfair some time. I don't know how many times I wish I were a Texas resident so that I can apply to Texas schools and go there with the exceptionally low tuition rates. Tuition from Texas medical schools really put other state schools' tuition to shame (hi Illinois !!!!). I hope you hear something from Rosy Franklin. However, if you have a chance at a Texas school, it's the best I think.

Coincidentally, homophobia, racism, transphobia, and sexism also lack regional bias!

I can vouch that Tantacles wasn't trying to imply that. He was just pointing out that support for the LGBTQ population is something the RFUMS is specifically proud of. Our school has always been non-discriminatory (for example, we have female african americans graduating as early as 1917), and we had to fight for accreditation in the mid 20th century because we wouldn't limit how many Jews we would accept. I will also put in that I have multiple classmates from Texas, so don't lose hope!

For those of you that received II last week...have any of you gotten a confirmation email about your interview yet? I chose 12/1 but haven't heard anything from them since I selected that date.

I interviewed back in September but the first email I received after scheduling my interview wasn't until about 3 days before the actual interview.

Not that I am aware of...I have a feeling we won't know until next week.

Though I'm afraid you're correct, I'd be disappointed in the CMS if they don't send out the first batch tomorrow (last day of week 6 in the 4-6 weeks quoted for those first interviewed). I think it's okay to realize the process is taking longer than anticipated, particularly when instituting a large change like MMI, but it's unprofessional to not notify the community of any delays as soon as they become apparent. If the first batch isn't out tomorrow, we really should have heard something about it at least a week ago.

Even if they were to reach out tomorrow to everyone who interviewed 9/5 notifying them of a delay reflects poorly on them. There's no real excuse for a lack of communication at an institutional level. Ahh, to be powerless 🙂.

I didn't realize that tomorrow was the last day of the 6th week! I had a 9/5 interview date as well.

Hopefully they get back to us tomorrow! I was thinking it would be next week or the end of October. It makes sense that they'd tell us tomorrow, given what you said. Do we know if they call or email? Or if they do snail mail? Haha

Hi guys, has anyone else not received a complete e-mail for over 7 weeks since submission? I understand it's a busy time for the admissions office now, but I got an e-mail Sept 3rd saying that they have received my supplemental, but have not heard anything since then. Tried calling the office too, actually twice, and both times nobody picked up.

Quite confused and frustrated

How long did it take you all to receive the complete email after submitting your secondary?

All of my letters were in long before I submitted my secondary 3 weeks ago... Still no complete email

Edit: looking back in the thread it looks like there were others who had to wait 17, 18, 19 days... Maybe they are just back-logged? 22 days without a complete email, maybe I'll sit tight for a few more days 🙁

Hey, just wondering how long you waited before receiving your complete e-mail? I'm now 7 weeks in and still nothing...

Mine took 5 days to be marked as complete but that was back in July. I didn't receive an II until 8/29 and I interviewed 9/5.

It ended up taking exactly 25 days for me, I think the later in the cycle it gets, the longer it's taking. I hope you hear back soon!

Completely agree.

If we don't get an email by 4pm (4:30 at the latest), then it is safe to assume we won't know until next week.

Is today the day??

It looks like last year someone from the admissions committee answered some questions on a Saturday (10/19) and suggested they were hoping to get the first batch of acceptances the following week. The first batch went out Tuesday of the week AFTER that (10/29). The first batch included acceptances being mailed out to people in non-chronological order. One person who had interviewed 6 days prior received an acceptance on the 29th and some people who had interviewed around 5 weeks prior were notified they were put on "hold" meaning the admissions committee had not yet had time to review their file and make a decision (a little confusing considering the exceptional turnaround for some people who heard back in 6 days).

The moral of the story is to not hold your breath (even for those of us who interviewed 7 weeks ago). But seriously, IL Pre Med, I think you've gotta pick up a voice modulator and a burner-phone then give em a call 😉.

Haha I'm not calling, I'll just vent on here. Stressing with you guys is more fun. Jk.. Sorta..

It's okay CMS, you're only playing with our lives here, no big deal.
