I submitted on July 12 and they haven't put me on hold at all ... still haven't heard back :shrug:
 
Submitted 7/15 and still on hold for re-review and hoping 🙂
 
Is their "hold for re-review" a standard status update for everyone? Or has anyone here gotten an II without having the re-review status first?

Edit: nevermind, looked back and saw that someone had received an II without having the re-review status

I have a feeling you are talking about Georgetown while this is George Washington... Last year GW didn't send out rejections until October.

Congratulations & I'm glad you enjoyed your experience!!

I know a lot of us MS1's wanted to pop in & say hi, but today was our first exam and the MS2's are having their exams this Monday. So normally the environment is even friendlier. Everyone here is super, super collaborative & team-orientated.

Just some general advice for people with upcoming interviews
1) Relax. The interviewers are really laid-back and want to get to know the real you. I feel as though sincerity here is huge and you would be doing yourself a disservice if you stressed out too much.
2) Get to know the school ahead of time as much as possible. They really appreciate students that take a genuine & active interest in them. I wasn't aware that you could schedule campus tours ahead of time & that's something I would've taken advantage of in hindsight. I scoured their websites and collected as much information as I could & then I came a few days early to get a feel of the city.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask & hopefully I can respond in time!
 
Went from being complete to on hold for re-review in a day.
That was quick. A bit saddened but just waiting to hear anything at this point.
 
Have been complete since 08/14, status still reads "your file is now complete. we have received all the necessary credentials.." Patiently waiting! 🙂

For the people concerned about the safety of the city- Foggy Bottom is a very safe area (Northwest DC). The sketchiest areas of the city are in the Southeast quadrant. Like in any city, be aware, but I wouldn't be too concerned. The Secret Service is everywhere (you can see Pennsylvania Ave from the med school), so you're pretty safe. 🙂

Agreed! Foggy Bottom is so close to a lot of really important people and buildings that you sort of have a herd immunity in that part of the city. Nothing to worry about if you're sensible and self-aware when you're walking down the street! Plus, uber is about as cheap here as any city I've been to, so it's easy to get an inexpensive ride home late at night if you don't want to walk somewhere alone.

I've been complete since Aug 6th and haven't heard anything. I wish I could telepathically read minds so I can know whether it's a good thing that I'm not on hold even though people completed after me have gotten interviews.

Lol try being complete since July 2nd and not having heard anything.
 
I was complete around July 12th and my status was "complete" but I went on hold a couple day ago :annoyed:

Kind of similar timeframe for me. Complete in mid July but then got the hold only, what, a week ago? Week and a half?
 
Those who got an II do you mind sharing your stats ? Thank you and good luck in your interview 🙂

Hey all. I was complete around 08/01- I have the "application complete" status and have had that for about a month. Is this normal/anyone else in my shoes experiencing this? Thanks in advance, everyone. These threads are always tremendously helpful.

I was completed 7/2 and didn't hear from them until couple of weeks back with an II
 
Got put on hold sometime between yesterday and today. Complete 8/18. This is my first update of any kind from any school this cycle, so I'm kind of relieved even though it's not exactly "good" news.

I was complete on the same day 8/18. Did your status switch from the "Your file is now complete. We have received...." straight to "On Hold" or was there anything in between?
Just wondering bc I also haven't heard anything from any school this cycle so trying not to lose hope 🙁

It went straight from "Your file is now complete..." to on hold. Don't lose hope! It's still really early, and like I said, this was the first news I've heard from any school, so you're not alone!
 
So I had my interview day last week and I wanted to share some advice because I always love when people post these! So 1. the school is amazing. 2. the students are amazing. 3. the staff and faculty members are... you guessed it... amazing! It was such a great day. The interviews themselves were very laid back. My faculty member started off with telling me that they wanted the interview to be casual so they could get to know me as a person. Just the simple regular interview questions... Tell me about yourself, Your biggest failure and how you learned from it, and why GW. The student interview was even more casual, they asked me about what books I read, my favorite TV show, which we had both in common so we talked about books and shows the rest of the time. This is my number one choice and the interview day solidified that even more. I wish you all the best of luck and you can message me if you want to know anything more specific.
