2015-2016 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Guys, honestly you have to get used to the idea of settling in for the long haul. You could not hear anything for another 3 months and get an II. I just got an II from MCW yesterday, after nothing since July! Don't worry too much, it's happening!

I understand, but I turned in my application ~4 months ago and they said that they'd give an update within 8-10 weeks at the latest

I get it. Believe me, I have 12 schools left on my list I've been waiting on since July. But calling does not help, at all. The only thing that *may* help is to send a meaningful update letter, if you have new info to share. Just keep busy and stay hopeful and optimistic. We have already done everything we need to do to start med school next fall. Now we just wait and finish the job when called upon. Best of luck

PS. They never say at the latest". Their 8-10 weeks thing is just a hopeful bit on their part too. It can take 6 months to get a Response.

Also got rejected today. I've been complete for 3 months. 3.8/507 Good luck to everyone! Pre-interview

Just got the rejection email, so I guess it doesn't really matter now. Good luck to everyone still in the running

Sorry to hear that, but your stats are incredible. I'm so confused. What the heck are these schools looking for? If you don't mind sharing where is/are your degrees from?

On interview day the admins said if you don't get accepted, rejected, or waitlisted, you get put on hold. Being put on hold here just means they ran out of time before getting to your file. So I meant that judging from the amount of September interviewees on hold here on SDN, they may not get to all the October files for the next release date. I pray to god I am wrong though!!

Do you know what the next release date is? I should take a look at MSAR again lol.

I have one II from Quinnipiac, which to me indicates that I don't have red flags. My ECs are 60 hours of pretty involved shadowing, 400 hours of volunteer clinical research with a publication pending that I expect by December, summers doing non-medical employment, and a pretty intense powerlifting hobby. What I do lack in non-clinical volunteering. So I don't know. I've been rejected from higher schools like Pitt, Rochester and Hofstra, so I don't believe all my rejections are yield protection. Here at Rosalind Franklin, it might be yield protection just because of where my averages are compared to them, but who knows. I went to Pitt for undergrad and I'm from Pa. I assume I have good letters but can't know for sure of course.

Complete in August and still haven't heard anything. With all these Sept complete dates getting the axe, makes me wonder when mine will come...

Part of me is hoping they just haven't rejected me because they're just waiting to send me an II. But then I remember how many apps they get and realize the wait is probably not for that reason.

Why is everyone freaking out about not hearing anything back from RFU yet? There are plenty of other schools where I have been complete since June and haven't heard a peep.

The admissions committee meets the last Thursday of the month. So I assume that we hear the first or second week of December.

Edit: I *think* they said last Thursday on interview day.

I don't think they will be meeting on Thanksgiving unless they already met this week. And assuming how long they took for the last release you might want to buckle up for the long haul.

They will just have to make it up next week! I am hopeful to hear back by the end of the second week of December. :::crystal ball activate:::

Last year they had a round of decisions released on Dec. 3-4 for people who interviewed mid Oct.-early Nov., and then again on Dec. 16 for those who interviewed later in November. So let's hope that you're right and that despite the delays, the timetable somewhat aligns with last year!

Love your post 🙂)))) I could find out in less than two weeks that I am becoming a doctor. Let's do this!!!!!!!

I highly doubt it. Last Thursday of the month is Thanksgiving Day, what'd the adcom be doing meetin' up?

Yeah but they would make it up another day next week.

Meh, I bet next week there'll be some other undisclosed stuff for them to do, $5 bucks. I'mma just sit back, relax and be productive (i.e. work & make $$$) and try to forget that I'm waiting on a few post interview decisions, lol

Time frame sounds about right. But how about the interview date range covered? Obviously from reading posts above, there's many on-holds that the adcom didn't even get to at their last meeting.

When did you interview 2015?

From last years board, the Dec. 3rd release were all October and November interviews. They'll start moving along faster now.. I have faith I will hear no later than December 11th.

My interview was10/30.

Dear Lord, mine was 10/30 also! Was yours in the morning or afternoon?

Rejected pre-interview today. COmplete early October LizzyM 67. Didn't have high hopes anyways but good luck to those in the running

Anyone have any estimation on the next batch? I know last year was around this time but they also seems behind schedule.
