I had my interview today and it was extremely laid back. There are information presentations, a tour, a lunch and then your interviews are in the afternoon.

Personally, I would if:
-the TA position differed from previous TA experience (e.g. newly acquired duties/responsibilities)
I would not if:
-the TA position was similar to what was already on my application (as a TA is a TA is a TA).

I've been "complete" since July 16 with no updates or change in status. Does anyone know what order they review applications? Curious as to why so many that have been submitted after mine are getting placed "under review" or "on hold for re-review"?
 
just submitted my secondary today! fingers crossed for an interview!
anyone know what the turnaround time has been so far from being complete to interview invite?
 
They work fast. I was unfortunately put on hold but my status was updated in less than a week.

Maybe it's a good sign since we haven't been put on hold yet, but then again it could be bad that they are not reviewing the app. I wouldn't try to think about it too much!

They don't screen. I think they were automatically sent to people even if their primaries were still being verified as long as you indicated you are applying here.
 
Just got placed on hold today 🙁 I know it doesn't mean anything bad but I'm just bummed because this was my top choice.

Same here...I've been complete for 3 weeks not really sure what's going on :/
 
Is there a general consensus for how long people are "under review" for? I've had the status since Thursday late afternoon. Feeling anxious and checking the portal all too often x__x
 
Placed on hold for re-review today 🙁. I was complete on 7/22. This was my first response from a school so definitely not the best start to the cycle but it is what it is. Best of luck to everyone else!

Don't get too down, they're putting a lot of people on hold right now. We've still got a long cycle ahead of us!

I feel ya I'm in the same situation today. Not the best start to the week but hey at least it's still only August! I'm sure you'll start hearing good news soon
 
To everyone getting upset about hold status: please keep things in perspective! Most schools will review your file and place you on hold without even telling you. The first round of invites go to their favorites/ applicants who they think are superstars/ best fit. However, you still may be ranked very favorably by the committee and you have until the beginning of 2017 to hear about an invite. No reason to become upset in August unless it is a rejection!

Ive been on hold for over a month. Some people will remain on hold until spring, others will receive invites over that time. No way to know.

I just got the under review status this morning (I'm a portal stalker so I know for a fact it was not under review yesterday), and received an II today!!

Letters of intent are usually sent post-interview (when/if one is on the wait list). GW assumes that you want to attend (otherwise, why would you apply?). Plus, intent to attend without an invitation doesn't make sense.

Instead...I would think of an update letter that includes a new activity or activity that has evolved somehow (e.g. more responsibility, new experience that has led to growth, etc.). In the update letter, I would end with a "GW is the school for me because....". That way, you are sending an update with stated interest without looking desperate or foolish (for sending a LOI without being interviewed). Make sense? Best of luck!

I did! One of the LORs I indicated I wanted to send them hadn't been uploaded to AMCAS. Once my letter writer uploaded it and GW received it, that status changed.

on hold :/ hoping to send an update letter soon
anyone know if they outright reject people or is just either pre-hold invite or II invite?
 
I submitted by secondary approximately 1 week ago and have already been put on hold. I wonder if they even reviewed it or if they automatically put applicants on hold based on primaries...
