2016-2017 Rosalind Franklin University Application Thread

i Still haven't received my complete email yet....

II today! Submitted in July, complete 9/6. Sorry if this has been asked before but in the email it says to pick the soonest available date. We don't have to go with that date, right? We can pick from the 3-4 available dates?
Yeah, "available" means soonest date that you are available; Not the soonest date they have available for you. Otherwise, I'd be going to interview this friday and would bomb the interview for sure haha

For those who just received II, do you mind sharing what dates were available for interviews? Thanks! And congrats!!

I remember they had tomorrow as the earliest and a month from now (first Friday in December) after that (received and scheduled yesterday morning). I think they only interview on Fridays but have a morning and afternoon session.

November 4th, November 18th, December 2nd, and December 9th. Morning and afternoon sessions as the person above me said!

I hope I'm not tested on details of the Cub's game tomorrow.. After spending half of today in Chicago it feels like I'm the only one in this city that didn't watch it:whistle:

What does a hold post II mean? Is that the waitlist?

Does that mean that they haven't reached our app or that we are definitely waitlisted?

I recall that someone (earlier in this thread) got that email in September after the 9/09 interview. Idk if they were accepted/rejected, but everyone else who were accepted on 10/17 did not get the "hold" email.

Pretty sure it's waitlisted.

I combed through last year's thread and there is a difference bt waitlist and hold! However, most people that were put on hold were waitlisted a month later. I only read of one acceptance from someone that was put on hold...

There really needs to be a lot more transparency in this process...

@holdthemayo Same boat over here! ACCEPTED! Wow. Amid waking up late, rushing to work, and frantically getting ready for clinic, I checked my email and there it was. I'm a reapplicant and this was my first acceptance, so it feels pretty surreal.

Good luck to everyone out there still waiting. I know so well how tough it can be, but it's not over until you stop trying!

For those who care... Stats: LizzyM 66 (also w/ upward trend), research (w/ handful of publications), and 2+ years work experience in medicine (clinical research, scribe)

do people come off the hold status fast or is it a long wait.. anyone who known, please inform

I think we will be waiting a while...last year people that were on hold did not hear back for another month or two...and that was for mostly for waitlists except for one...they are an indecisive group of mother*******

Oh wow I interviewed 9/30... wonder why we both got responses the same day

They probably decide on the same day for an entire month time period of apps

They told us that being on hold means they haven't reached our app...I don't believe that and I think they want more time to see other applicants before deciding on us...

Nothing about the hold e-mail I received this AM leads me to believe "they haven't reached my app." It almost certainly implies they have looked at it and haven't made their mind. I'm basing this off of a particular sentence from the e-mail: "A hold status means that the committee has neither accepted nor rejected your application for admission at this time, but will continue to be evaluated at regular intervals."

I had his impending feeling yesterday that cms was going to tell me good news today. I opened my almost battery drained phone to read the snippet about 'hold'. Ugh, I knew I should have appropriated funds for an mmi training session.

But if you look through previous years threads, they were told that the committee hasn't reached the app...however, that is the past and your interpretation of the email seems to be accurate...just confirms my belief that this hold isn't a good sign...

If this is the case why keep applicants hanging. Clearly they don't have a shortage of applicants and they have 24 ppl per half day interview. This is where DO admissions rule. Seriously...started app in june and then travelled abt only to wait 2-6 months post interview. If you review someone's app, there is just no sense in waitlisting them and giving pretense of a hold. If they haven't reviewed the file, I don't believe that because read the first pars of that email. It specifically says the adcom have collectively agreed to put your app on hold after review. I'm peacing cause I know all too well what will come after this :whoa:
