I appreciate it, I hope everything works out for you as well!

Just an observation of mine: it seems that most of the WL offers given in early May seem to be to students who were already matched at a TMDSAS school. In a way, it looks like those who already hold an acceptance are more likely to come off a waitlist at TMDSAS schools.

As always, don't lose hope just yet, and remember to relieve stress in this anxious time for all of us.

Thanks, I guess that makes me feel somewhat happier. I just dislike this tension... from one year ago its been a long wait, not just for me but for most of us. I hope our efforts and patience pays off. On another note, what are some of you guys, who do have a match, planning to do before school starts?

Yes this is my dream school and I ranked it #1. <3
White female.
Sent in application the first week it opened. Interview invite 10/11.
Interviewed 10/19.
Honestly MCAT score wasn't the best, but 3.9 GPA, extensive research, volunteering and shadowing.

I did not!! I did call a lot though, not sure how much that helped other than annoy the admissions office! I wanted to send letters, etc. but I remember their email explicitly saying not to. So I figured I'd take their word for it lol

What did you say when you called? I know... I called before and they explicitly said that I don't have to call if I know I am on the waiting list. Thanks!!

I just asked about movement and the waitlist but they never really gave me any useful advice but I was always kind and respectful and so was their staff. They definitely recognized who I was though after a while lol
 
I'm assuming that if you call they won't give any more info about your spot on the waitlist? It'd be nice to at least know in terms of thirds, like some schools do

Yeah I asked them before I made my decision, it's June 1.
 
So if we have an acceptance elsewhere and don't hear back by June 1st here(ranked 1 spot) then it's the end of our cycle?

Also, does Mcgovern send out acceptances June 1st?

Yes, after June 1st Texas medical schools can only accept Texas residents that hold no acceptances.
 
Just got in off the waitlist and accepted the offer!

I gave up my acceptance at UIWSOM. I also withdrew from the waitlist at UTHSCSA and UTRGV.

Interviewed 9/2/16

IS, Re-applicant/Non-Traditional, MCAT: 33, GPA: 3.4
