@Yellow_Elephant can you comment on the new curriculum?Anyone able to comment on it a bit ? (M1s or those who interviewed)
They didDid they start a new curriculum this year ?
Is there any group/ independent learning or mostly all traditional lecture ?Yes, we are the first class completing the new curriculum. I can't speak to all of the differences between our curriculum and the second years (because I didn't take their classes), but I do enjoy our curriculum. The new curriculum is meant to be more integrated. So, each week we have a theme to the week and then our lectures mostly follow with this theme. It's been interesting because we are introduced to a clinical topic (like a certain disease), and then throughout the week we have basic science lectures that address that specific disease in some way, then anatomy lab dissections focus on that system, and we complete a skills session with standardized patients for that system, etc. That way, by the end of the week, we have addressed a lot about that specific disease and we wrap up with a discussion and problem solving session encompassing the week's material.
As with any new curriculum, there were some hiccups at first, but I feel that the faculty have done a great job addressing those and have implemented changes as we've gone. I think next year the curriculum will be even better (since we are kinda the guinea pigs for you guys)!
Let me know if you have any specific questions! 🙂

Also the grades may change to pass fail for the next class from what I've heard (or maybe the following year)
During my interview yesterday at another school I had several students and other interviewees mention that McGovern was a good school if you are a competitive learner instead of collaborative. Others also said the medical students were very rude to them and the students said they were unhappy with their school. Granted, their (current Ms1s) experiences occurred during last year's application cycle.
During my interview at McGovern, everyone was very nice and friendly and mentioned the environment was collaborative. Needless to say, it was very different from the aforementioned statements. I mostly talked to MS1s who were experiencing the new curriculum and they were very happy.
Are there MS1s, MS2s, or other interviewees who know what I am talking about? I apologize for the scatter-brained post, it was just a bunch of "he said, she said". Thank you!

Do you guys know how long it takes for McGovern to be added to our TMDSAS rank list? I interviewed on 11/4 and am hoping they will consider me for the pre-match![]()
Correct. TMSDAS will see your rankings when you submit your final list by Jan 20th.I don't think the rank list has anything to do with prematch, only match I believe.
Correct. Schools do not see your rankings until Jan 20th.
They don't! Most Texas schools I interviewed at mentioned that during the day at some point.I thought schools never see our rankings?
TMSDAS sees them when you submit your ranked list by Jan 20, sorry to confuse by saying the schools see them. I will edit my comment.I thought schools never see our rankings?
II just now for 11/18. Suggestions on best hotels/pricing in the area? They offered too many to look through, and some personal experience would really help!

Little annoyed that it's past the pre-match offer date, but oh well.![]()
Congrats! Why don't you stay with a student host?
Took less than 2 weeks for meI interviewed here in mid-October. The school still hasn't come out on my TMDSAS rank list...do they usually take long?

Anyone know how many interview dates are left? Still holding out hope for a II here...
they are on my rank list now. Still don't know how that bodes regarding prematches, but so far the thread is quiet on acceptances so fingers still crossed.I interviewed here in mid-October. The school still hasn't come out on my TMDSAS rank list...do they usually take long?
Maybe the dean of admissions or whoever sends them out is busy/sickIs it just me or is it weird that no one has posted that they got accepted today?
Just now!When did you prematch?
