II!!!

But didn't know that Dartmouth is so hard to get to gg.
It's not that bad if you fly into Dartmouth and then book the Dartmouth Coach in/out of Hanover. I stayed at the Hanover Inn, which is literally across the street from Dartmouth and it is also the bus stop for the Dartmouth Coach. It is a bit of a pricey hotel though. Good luck!

Yeah, yeah! The Dartmouth Coach is only a 2-hr ride from Boston (either South Station or Boston Logan) and drops you off right in center of campus (and right back to Logan). The Hanover Inn is really central, and so is 6 South Street Hotel.

II 20 minutes ago!!!

OOS, non-trad, secondary complete mid-July, sent in one update in September, WARS score as below.

Can someone give me advice on transportation? I would like to stay with a student but how do I get to them...

The best way to get to Hanover is to take the Dartmouth Coach from Boston. It will drop you off directly on campus. I would recommend getting in touch with the students you are interested in staying with to see if they would be able to give you a ride to/from campus, or if there is a way to get to their place with Advanced Transit (the free public buses). Do be aware that Advanced Transit stops after 6ish pm, so if you are getting to campus after that, then that won't be an option.

So after I find a host should I ask them if they can pick me up from campus after taking the bus from the airport? Is there uber and how far are student residences from the campus?

I would ask them, yeah. Uber is super limited (I think there are a grand total of three drivers in the area now?); there are taxi services, but you would need to call in advance to arrange a pickup, you can't just flag them down like you would in a city. Students live a range of distances from campus. I would say that the majority probably live in Lebanon (~5 miles), some in the grad/professional student housing, Sachem Village (~1.5 miles). Those that live in Hanover tend to share houses with numerous roommates on the outskirts of town, as Hanover rent is pricier than that of other towns in the Upper Valley.

Also received an II! Would interviewing in march affect my chances? Does anyone know approx. what percentage of acceptances have been sent by now?

So... Mid February is this week no? Which means we all should hear back pre II -as per the "hold e-mail". Amiright?

So where do we find the darmouth coach bus when we arrive at Boston's airport? How much of a time buffer should I give myself?

Additionally, how do I go about staying with a student host? I sent my confirmation to the email they gave us and request it there.

They’ll email you for the student housing program! You get a list of student hosts to email.

Also the Dartmouth coach is basically at the end of the arrival end of the airport (by baggage claims). There are signs that say “scheduled bus” which is where the coach shows up. The door I picked it up at was A105 (southwest), but I think it has 4 total stops at the airport. The Dartmouth coach website has pretty good instructions

Rejected pre-II today via email, was complete mid October, did not send any updates, and I did get that "your file continues to be under active review email" in December.

Not me, my anxiety is out of control though! I feel like we’ll hear closer to March
yah i feel you.

like 5 people from my undergrad already got in (ivy undergrad... not dartmouth). i wonder if their success will affect my chances since i interviewed much later

If anything I think the trend favors you!

Is Geisel open to accepting additional references? If so, do you know how you'd submit them, and would you recommend submitting it before or after my interview on Feb 27th?

They said during our interview day that you can have the references email their admissions with the letter! Just put in your name and AMCAS ID in the email I believe.

I would do it sooner rather than later, I think decisions will come out and meetings are every Thursday in March.

On the MSAR, it's written that Dartmouth gives out approx 10-30 waitlist positions, of which 33 are typically offered an acceptance. Anyone have any more info to make sense of this?

ah, sucks to be writing this but R via email a few minutes ago. I did sent an invite yesterday so my two cents, if you want closure, consider sending in an update. But again, n=1. so good luck to everyone and thanks for being insightful on here.

Anyone want to comment on how their interviews at Dartmouth were? Also, does the tour end on time because I have to catch the bus an hour after.

Interviews were really chill! One open-file, one closed-file, and you will know which one is which (there is a schedule of all interviews, with a key telling you). You also get the names of your interviewers at the beginning of the day, and there is a binder of resumes if you want to look into their research / background. They only last 30 minutes, which is kind of short. The last interview ends around 3:30pm, so you join the tour if you want, or not! It's very chill. You can duck out early to run to the bus (walkable from the med school, if you're taking the Dartmouth Coach from the Hopkins center) to make the 5pm definitely.

Just got the axe for this place. Pre-II. Good luck to anyone still holding out!

In the link detailing the admissions process it seems like 2nd and 3rd tier applicants do not receive decisions till the cycle is essentially over
If I recall correctly, they did mention at my interview day that only a select few applicants will be receiving acceptances and rejections early in the cycle and that the majority of decision will come out in March. (Unless I am completely mixing up schools....)
