Looks like we won't be hearing until January uhh

Someone in this thread said one year decisions came out on xmas eve...so perhaps the adcom is still working? Not banking on it though. I've decided to stop expecting a decision from here because every time it seems like it's decision day we get silence. It's been fun anxiously anticipating with you all though. Happy holidays friends!

Don't take the city cabs that are parked right outside of terminal as they charge double the price as soon as you leave Chicago (it will cost you anywhere from 140-180$ to get to RFU). I would suggest Uber or the private taxi companies that the school recommends ( their info will be found in your interview email). Disregard the hotels that they recommend. The best one in the area (less than 2 miles away) is Sleep Inn Lake Bluff and rooms go anywhere from $75-120 compared to $140+ at the Marriot or Hyatt.
Does Sleep Inn have a shuttle to campus?

I called twice earlier today and the front desk never answered. This thread was option numero dos.

Didn't receive the hold email...

...or anything else for that matter 😱

Did you stay here? I'm trying to book my hotel and would like to choose a place with a shuttle. I've read that uber doesn't service the area.
I don't know of any hotel that has a shuttle service to campus. Only Uber Black services the area. There are local taxi companies (I.e Elite Taxi).

I have something really special to support my app, so should I email the school about it? Or they will not look at it?

They SPECIFICALLY said they don’t accept updates no matter what. You will be hurting ur chances, just my 2 cents

You have a good point here but I am still doubting about it!! 50/50% might really hurt or REALLY get their attention!!

They were extremely explicit about only accepting updates like institutional action or criminal charges. If you send it, they're either going to completely ignore it or they're going to be annoyed you don't listen or follow rules. Either way the content of your update will not be considered so it's not worth risking making them annoyed in my opinion.

Question for the locals: I'm going to be interviewing here next month, and I'm staying with some family friends in Schaumburg. Does anybody have any idea on the best way to get to campus for my interview? Should I uber or is there safe/reliable public transport? How is traffic? Thanks in advance 🙂

Traffic going away from the city - I.e. Schaumburg to North Chicago should not be too bad.
However, I’m assuming Schaumburg to North Chicago is an hour drive? Uber might be quite expensive. But still probably best bet IMO.

Schaumburg is west of Chicago and North Chicago is north of Chicago (shocker, I know), both by about a 45 minutes to an hour. Unfortunately most public transportation goes to/from the burbs and city, so there wouldn't be much that would cross from one side of suburbia to the other. Google maps says public transportation is 3 hours and 20 minutes for $10-ish and an Uber is 42 minutes for $50. That $40 is well worth it my mind. Best of luck!

I know it’s early, but has anyone from the 12/1 interview heard back yet?

What do you mean by scheduled meetings?
The other two schools I interviewed at said "your application will be discussed in committee the week of December 17th" or "decisions will be posted on January 3rd". From this it seems, and makes sense, that schools schedule a regular meeting of the adcom so they can discuss applications, however, it seems like RFU does not do this or at least doesn't tell us/plan very far in advance...

Does anyone have any idea when the next committee meeting for post-II decisions is?
