2017-2018 Rosalind Franklin University

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I based what I said off of the fact that other schools that use amcas have broken traffic rules (specifically, the one about $100 deposit... I've been charged more than that). I wouldn't be surprised if other rules get broken too. I asked some adcoms about it, and they said these aren't binding rules but suggestions.

But I def hope you end up being right and RF accepts more ppl by then!!! 🙂
Oh I must have miss read the thread, But I agree!

Did anyone else get a decision today? Interviewed February 2nd and waitlisted today at 11:30

Waitlisted email here. Not surprised since upon checking last two years’ thread, the best you can get for Jan and feb interview is waitlist.

Let’s just hope some good waitlist movement

oh, so people interviewing now are just interviewing for waitlist? Isnt this odd since acceptances havent gone out since october apparently?

My guess is that they are already maxed out on acceptance at this time. Maybe there are people still holding multiple acceptance.

I interviewed in early Feb. But if no acceptance are given out since Oct 27th, we may have to wait until traffic day April 30th.

I am a international student (non-Canadian), so we are in the same boat on this one.

Waitlisted today, interviewed in Feb. At my interview, they said half of their acceptances had gone out (200/400).

I also remember them saying that. If that statement still stands, then the waitlist movement may start before April 30th.

WL today, interviewed earlier in February. Looking at this thread I’m feeling like I interviewed for the waitlist. Do they release a ranked waitlist?

WL today after an interview a few weeks ago 🙁

Kinda wish I had known all their As are out, I would have liked to save on the hotel & mileage. My wallet has been weeping since last June.

Anyone else find their curriculum presentation to be...not that informative on interview day?

EDIT: yes, okay, not all As are out. Was skimming through the last page of the thread and missed the correction to the speculation. My bad.

but how can we assume their As are all out if apparently they have only filled half the class and no one since October has gotten an A?

Last I checked, we have not sent out all our acceptances... not sure why no acceptances have been reported lately though.

The curriculum presentation is bare minimum right now because details about the new curriculum haven't been officially released yet.

The waitlist isn't ranked.

Interviewed a couple of weeks ago, also waitlisted this morning. So many mixed emotions 😕

I'm sorry if this is redundant but I couldn't find this through my brief scan of the 34 pages.

What is the best way to get from O'hare Airport to the med school?

Campus is far away from o'hare.

if you are older than 25, rental car is best.

even if you are under than 25, rental car might still be better since the lack of cheap uber in north chicago. There is a metro train, which is pretty good but it will limit your travel schedule to certain time frame.

I'd say renting a car is the easiest, especially if you're also leaving from the same airport.

A cab there is super expensive (~$80+) and I couldn't even find an Uber.

Tip: make sure you have $change$ bc there are a **** ton of pay tolls in the Chicago area.

When do you interview? I am looking to split costs for April 6

Sent from my XT1254 using SDN mobile

I understand wanting to wait until everything is finalized, but it is frustrating to me that they are still not ready to release details (or even hopeful plans with the "subject to change" caveat) in Feb. I want more information about a new curriculum, especially because none of the current students can provide experiential context!

What kind of info are other schools giving you that RFU hasn’t??

Has anyone who withdrew acceptance received their deposit back? Seemed kind of unclear whether it was refundable or not

Should be refundable until April 30:

7. Each school's pre-enrollment deposit should not exceed $100 and (except for EDP applicants,) be refundable until April 30. If the applicant enrolls at the school, the school should credit the deposit toward tuition. Schools should not require additional deposits or matriculation fees prior to matriculation. As a current student, I totally agree! We're trying to see what info we can get for you guys.

Yeah, it would be INSANELY sketchy if a school tried to require a completely non-refundable deposit, and I imagine that the AAMC would not allow them to participate in AMCAS.

Can you check when they'll be getting back to people who interviewed in November and haven't heard anything? They said 4-6 weeks.

To clarify, I’m just an applicant also waiting to hear back... don’t have an inside scoop! But you should shoot them an email, someone replied to me within a day.

I asked Admissions and their response was that everyone should have heard "something"... I'm guessing it means any correspondance, not a decision. :/ I wish I had a better answer lol.
