Did everyone eventually progress to "Your application is under review"? Mine has said "your application is ready!" since August.
Mine still says "your application is ready!" and I just got an II

My application was marked complete and ready in August, and I have heard nothing, literally. The most recent email I received was the application complete email back in August. Should I be concerned? The 2ndary app deadline is in January but still, if its rolling admissions shouldnt we be hearing something.
II this morning. Complete in late September. I had sent in an update and an ITA email (which tufts doesn't take!) two weeks ago.
I have another Boston interview the same week so I'm extending my trip. Was anyone able to find a cheap place to stay in the area?
Supposed to have received it a week after acceptance according to my e-mail but I still have not received it yet either. For those who got the acceptance call on Dec. 22, have you received the packet in the mail yet? I haven't and I'm starting to wonder if it got lost or something...
When were you complete?II this morning as well!

When were you complete?
I was accepted on the 22nd and received my official acceptance letter a few days ago. It wasn't a packet but maybe it's different for regular admissions versus Maine Track. For those who got the acceptance call on Dec. 22, have you received the packet in the mail yet? I also got the II this morning. Heading back to Boston!

How often do they give out scholarships like that?hey guys I am a first year medical student here, URM etc. I am happy to answer any question you have about tufts. But I must say this school is amazing when it comes to supporting and being there for their students. My classmates are awesome and the faculty is even better! The biggest drawback about this school is the cost, I was lucky enough to get just about a full tuition scholarship but cost of living is still a burden.
not very often sadly from my talks with the financial aid department. How often do they give out scholarships like that?
OOS LM71.6 - Completed in July and silence, I'm seeing people who completed later getting decisions already. Do I assume my app sucked and it's a rejection on the backburner (for this school and any where it's taking forever to get back while those who submit after hear fast)?
there was a huge rejection wave in mid december; if you survived that complete in July it probably means you are still in the runningOOS LM71.6 - Completed in July and silence, I'm seeing people who completed later getting decisions already. What criteria do they use to give out such scholarships?not very often sadly from my talks with the financial aid department.
NopeDid everyone who got a Maine track interview also get a regular track interview?
Interesting. So if they intend to reject you (the regular track), do you think they wait until the decision from the Maine track?Nope

Not sure, I also got a Maine track interview but haven't been rejected yet from the Boston track (but also still waiting on post interview decision from Maine). I know they at least say the decisions are completely separate and do not influence one another.Interesting. So if they intend to reject you (the regular track), do you think they wait until the decision from the Maine track?
Not IDid everyone who got a Maine track interview also get a regular track interview?
There was only one person at my interview from Maine, but based on the numbers they showed us Maine residents have a much higher rate of acceptance. They explain they want to act as a state school for Maine, so I am sure the stronger your connection the better it is, but if you are a stellar applicant with no connection you still may be fine. I would guess that no matter what you should show some sort of interest in rural medicine and medicine in Maine, because that is the point of the program. Are most Maine Track applicants from Maine? Or do they just have a "strong connection?" So hard applying as OOS everywhere so happy that there is at least Maine Track!
Yeah I am hoping that the committee offers interviews to students actually from Maine, even if their scores are not super competitive, similar to a state school. It is such a great program and no matter where I end up for school I know that I will ultimately be practicing in rural Maine. 🙂There was only one person at my interview from Maine, but based on the numbers they showed us Maine residents have a much higher rate of acceptance. When I interviewed there were eight students. Of the eight, three were from Maine (including myself), two were from New Hampshire, and all had rural connections or experiences. It is frustrating not having an allopathic medical school in Maine, however I also know several applicants who banked on being accepted "at least" in-state and ended up waitlisted at their state schools, only to go to a private institution. It's also challenging financially without a state school, but it was clear during the interview day and from what I know about the Maine Track program that Tufts and Maine Medical Center work hard to provide as much support as they can. I think it's also good to note that the Maine Track program is not through the state of Maine, but through Maine Health. It's unfortunate that the state doesn't see the value of investing in medical education for Maine residents, but at least there's an organization that does see the benefit and is willing to invest in a program to this degree. If you're looking for other options, there's also UNE in Biddeford, which has rotations in Bangor and other Maine hospitals in rural/underserved areas. Are most Maine Track applicants from Maine?
