JUST GOT THE CALL. IM OFF THE WAITLIST
!!!! That's so awesome!! Oh my gosh, my phone is locked in my car and I am hunkered down cramming for finals. This makes me want to run to my car!

Anyone submit anything to Dr Morris? Or general admissions? I never heard back so not sure if they received my stuff or not

I did. I never heard from Dr. Morris, but my advisor bumped into her the day after and actually inquired for me. She said she had received and read my LOI. So it seems it is normal for her not to respond.

Thanks 😀 that’s reassuring

Loved Tulane to death, but I already paid the deposit on my lease. I don’t want the stress of second guessing myself (and potentially getting sued) if I get in.
Gotcha!! This is why I have hesitated to do too much with my state school (finding roommates and housing). And Yup, it's causing stress lol

Anyone having an issue logging into the portal to see financial aid information? I cant seem to actually log in?

Means they didn’t give you any money and you should definitely withdraw :cat:

Just kidding, but you should ask the Facebook group, most of us following this thread haven’t been admitted yet and cannot help you. Are you unable to log in to Gibson?

Sad news guys, I was just contacted by an anonymous source and they said, "So I just spoke to the assistant dean of admissions, Michael Woodson, on the phone for 5 minutes. He regrettably told me that Tulane doesn't expect anymore movement from the waitlist this year, and that only 5 people have been taken off the waitlist so far."

I will probably wait until June 1, and then withdraw my WL spot.

The ****.

I'm sad but also oddly relieved. I'm still holding out but I've mentally relieved a lot of stress

I'm more confused than sad haha. Maybe that's why Tulane cut down the waitlist earlier this year.
I don't really understand it either. . . It seemed like so many were withdrawing. I agree with Fourandtwo I feel Like I should be super sad but I am also relieved that I can now just start settling into the idea of my state school. . .

Im sure some of you got the email from Tulane this afternoon about the waitlist. Much much less movement than they normally see, which normally occurs between April 30-May 15. Certainly a bummer, but validates what a lot of folks have been saying on this thread. Best of luck to those still waiting to hear back!

At this point, I’m at peace with the inevitable. But I can’t even front, this rejection is going to hurt the most. Best of luck to those applicants still waiting to hear back! It was fun interviewing with you all :horns:

Hi all,

Given recent news I know you probably don't want to be checking this thread anymore, but I think it would be helpful to level with you guys for a second as someone who was in some of yalls shoes this time last year—sitting on 26 rejections and 1 waitlist—and advertise a small Tulane program that is probably the only reason I will be attending TUSOM this fall (c/o 2022).

For those of you with a current waitlist either from Tulane or any other US MD/DO school, the Tulane Anatomy Certification & Leadership Program is a one-year postbac where you take gross anatomy alongside the current first-year class, and all you have to do in order to receive an interview and (likely) acceptance is beat their overall average. Literally 12 weeks, 4 block exams, 1 NBME shelf, and a couple of quizzes: that's pretty much it. Also when you matriculate, you will get to TA anatomy for the following year's first-years and not have to repeat any coursework.

17 out of 17 of us from this year's class were offered acceptances to TUSOM.
16 of 18 from last year's ACLP class. Historically, acceptance rates have been around 87%.

If you are interested check out more at tulaneaclp.com, and the 2018 thread here: Tulane ACLP 2018-2019
Also a personal review written by me (+1 by my classmate) **Rate your SMP & Postbac**

Anyone else still holding onto any shred of hope they have left?

I'M IN!! Just got in off the waitlist today!! Can't wait to meet the fellow classmates! The admissions member told me they normally are 30 deep into the waitlist at this point, but have moved less than 10 so far at this point. So definitely a weird situation this year.

Congratulations! What time did they call you if you don't mind answering? I didn't have service all day which scares me that they might have called. Probably not though....

How is it that there has been quite a bit of waitlist movement at some highly ranked schools, but Tulane hasn't even had double digit movement?

Talked to Mike Woodson the other day and he told me to call back at the end of next week to see if anything had happened. I will let you all know what he says if someone doesn’t call him before me.

What do you mean? Does it really matter at this point. If we get accepted, they will call. If we don't, they won't.
Yes, what I was trying to do was gauge the movement while also reiterating my interest. Maybe by annoying them enough when a spot opens up they will just accept me. Also, I really did love Tulane and don't know if I can bring myself to withdraw unless I Mike directly tells me there is no hope. By calling him next week it will put my soul to rest, and I will commit to my state school.

Just withdrew from the WL. All the best, everyone 🙂 It's been real. Love you all!

Does anyone know if Tulane conducts drug tests during orientation or first days of school? Current students or people who have friends who go to Tulane care to fill me in?

They do at your third-year orientation, so not for a while.
