Yes! This is encouraged and would certainly help
I'm sure someone has already asked about this, but how many interviews are there here? Is it one student interview and two faculty? Are they all open file? What did everyone think of the school? Thanks in advance everyone!
Is there a certain day of the week or time of day that decisions are usually released here?
Which specific dean do we send the letter of update to?
do we think that a poster presentation, podium presentation, research assistant work, and a second job (waitressing at nights/weekends) is enough to write an update letter pre II? or should i wait until i here back about a few paper publications?
There is 1 student interview and 1 faculty interview. The student interview is closed but the faculty interview is open. They are low stress interviews (typically)! I like the school but I may be a bit biased
Absolutely! You should send the update in now. There really is no harm in sending an update in "too soon"
Thank you!! I'm glad to hear you like it though
thank you! is it frowned upon mentioning the submitted publications or wait to see if theyre published and send another update?
No problem at all! You can always say that there is a "possibility that it gets published soon". And, when it does you can send that in as an update as well.
Has there historically been any waitlist movement for the high-priority waitlist before April 30th? Or does the wait just extend until then typically?
This is a hard question to answer. I would say that there is some movement before the April 30th deadline, but I would say that a lot of movement happens after people have made final decisions on schools.
Any acceptances today?
The SKMC admissions committee meets every Wednesday
Anyone know if they are receptive to ITA requests?
are II only sent out on wednesday’s too?
Nope! It looks like the last reported II was on the 7th which is a Friday.
Can't hurt to try!
I sent one today and received an email that it was added to my file.
Sent from my iPad using SDN mobile
Submitted my secondary in July and haven't heard anything back. Is that basically a rejection at this point or do they still give out interviews?
Nope, they interview really late into the season. They send Rs in waves so it's not over until it's over.
Which email are you sending updates to? I sent one in several days ago and I never received a confirmation...
Thank you! I missed the period
Do you know when the update period was? Or if there will be another one? I was going to send an update as well. Thanks!
I’m pretty sure they meant they missed the period in the email
Hello, I was just going through the curriculum for SKMC and was curious about the course material for
1) "Introduction to Foundations of Medicine"
2) host defense/blood (I assume this refers to the immune system)
Has SKMC sent out any rejections or do they wait until the end of the cycle? I submitted my secondary on 08/14 with radio silence since. I am just trying to gauge my standing.
Yep, they do it in batches throughout the cycle.
Thanks for the information, looks like I am still alive! Cheers
Hi! Yeah so introduction to foundations of medicine is kind of covering the basics of inflammation, clinical skills, embryology, etc. Host defense and blood is the first real system you learn and that is the immune system.
Do you have to pay the $100 deposit/fee to apply for financial aid?
Where did you find the course curriculum/course material?
Hey thanks, much appreciated!
I found it on their website under the banner "curriculum". Foundations of Medicine - Philadelphia University + Thomas Jefferson University
any II lately?
II just now - complete mid-August. Update sent about a week ago, if that matters ha.
Congrats! I just sent an update recently - fingers crossed! When are dates available?
Two dates in February--I didn't click to see March.
sorry if this has been asked already but can I send my previous semester grades as an update? and if so do you guys think if i got mostly A's but also a B and a B+ that it might not actually help me out to send in those grades? im very conflicted bc the A's are decently impressive given the subject matter i just couldn't pull through on the other two
did you send your update to the admissions email or the dean of admissions directly?
admissions email. Did I do it wrong? lol
sorry wrong person I replied too! I meant it for MissMerrimack
did you send your update to the admissions email or directly to the dean of admissions
To send an update of Fall semester grades, would we just attach an unofficial transcript in pdf form and email admissions/upload on portal?
Silly question, but for updates do we just attach a document to an email to the admissions email address? Or is there a way to upload things to the portal?
I sent my update thru email to [email protected].
I sent it to the admissions email via a pdf attachment. I'm curious if they read it
Axed just now
sorry to hear that! when were you complete
+1 complete mid Aug
