Under review for a week and just put on hold for interview
+1. LizzyM 75, complete 7/20, under review 8/26
Tbh pretty low especially if you’re still not submitted yet. Tulane has a super early cycle with most of its II given out by now. At this point unless you have a rock star app that fits whatever they’re looking for it looks like you’re gonna be on hold/rejected/under review. So my MCAT was a 512, I have a 3.89 GPA (3.9 Math and Science). I play a varsity sport, and I have around 200+ hours of volunteer and shadowing. I also did a wee bit of research for a summer. I submitted my secondary around 8/27. So my question fellas, is what are the chances I get in interview for this current cycle?
Most ii given out already? Well fckTbh pretty low especially if you’re still not submitted yet. Tulane has a super early cycle with most of its II given out by now. Give out almost all their interviews by early September? That's unlikely. I was asking more along the lines of whether my stats were strong enough to receive oneTbh pretty low especially if you’re still not submitted yet. Don't you have msar? Your stats seem in rangeGive out almost all their interviews by early September? That's unlikely. I was asking more along the lines of whether my stats were strong enough to receive one
Wahhhh, why did they have to implement this new processupdate: just got put on hold 🙁

Lol, I dont even know what that isDon't you have msar? Your stats seem in range
Basically a necessity for pre-meds. It's an online handbook of all the MD programs in the US. It has MCAT ranges, GPA ranges, stats on # of applicants and interviews offered, short descriptions of the curriculum, etc. How have you put together an MD list without it?Lol, I dont even know what that is
I only applied to 4 schools. It doesn't make much financial sense to apply out of state for a whole lot of schools (I'm from Alabama). I figured my stats were solid enough to have a chance at both my instate schools, and I threw Tulane and USF in there because some of my family are alums.Basically a necessity for pre-meds. Also.... just looked that up, and it's almost 30 bucks? LOL @ that. Why pay for something that can be found on the school's website that only costs the effort it takes to type some words on Google?Basically a necessity for pre-meds. It has a lot more information about the stats, curriculum, etc. than what schools provide on their websites. For example, in another thread where I just told you your chances of receiving an II, I knew what that school was looking for stats-wise based on my MSAR subscription. It has averages, 10%ile, 90%ile, etc. along with a conglomerate of information all in one place. By even deterring someone towards or away from one additional school, the subscription pays for itself in saved vs. wasted money.Also.... just looked that up, and it's almost 30 bucks? LOL @ that. Yep, lol. I applied super broadly.Haha are you applying to South and Tulane too?
The one thing that interests me from that MSAR thing is the percentile mcat scores for matriculates. If you have this resource, would you mind telling me the percentile of a 510 MCAT scoreYep, lol. I applied super broadly.

For USA, Tulane, and USF
Nope pretty likely. They’re already scheduling II for Feb and their season ends in March. It’s well known that this school has an early cycle and that the majority of II are given out by sept. Stats alone won’t do you good especially at this school where submitting early is criticalGive out almost all their interviews by early September? That's unlikely. Yes, as long as there is a green check mark next to itJust wondering is “in progress” the same as “under review”
I have red mark. What does this meanYes, as long as there is a green check mark next to it
That an adcom member has not started evaluating your application yet. When did you submit everything? Based on the general trends, it has been taking about 3-4 weeks from being complete to going under review.I have red mark. What does this mean
Like a month. SadThat an adcom member has not started evaluating your application yet. When did you submit everything? Based on the general trends, it has been taking about 3-4 weeks from being complete to going under review.
I’m willing to bet you’ll be under review this week. Perhaps there is a component of your app that has mistankenly not been submitted (LOR, app fee, head shot)Like a month. Sad
nah man, I dont think you're being open-minded. Think outside the box. If i submit my application as late as possible, the committee will be like "wow. this kid has some pizazz. we have to interview him to figure out how he became so dang confident"Nope pretty likely. Oos. 71 Lm. Idk what the trad vs nontraditional meansI’m willing to bet you’ll be under review this week. Perhaps there is a component of your app that has mistankenly not been submitted (LOR, app fee, head shot)
If not I’d be curious to know what your profile is like to see if that makes a difference. IS VS OOS? STATS? trad vs non-trad?
It's a blurry line, with the extremes being career changer versus starting med school immediately following undergrad. One gap year is pretty traditional too, but I think the line is blurred between 2 and 5 gap years.Oos. 71 Lm. Idk what the trad vs nontraditional means
Yea I'm at 2 years so I'll be in the middle ishIt's a blurry line, with the extremes being career changer versus starting med school immediately following undergrad. One gap year is pretty traditional too, but I think the line is blurred between 2 and 5 gap years.
I think they’re reviewed chronologically. It probably has more to do with the fact that some reviewers are faster than othersHonestly it's super annoying that they have such an early cycle yet they don't put apps under review in chronological order??

It does kinda suck that your chances lie with who ends up being assigned to your app thoughI guess I'm just salty because of my own bad luck haha
I think earliest date is like mid February. 🙁. Still waiting here. Good luck elsewhere!on hold...this blows. I feel like if I would've submitted a week earlier I probably would have gotten an II.
You are a true SamaritanWithdrew from interview today, hope that opens up a spot for one of you guys
Unbelievably jealousWithdrew from interview today, hope that opens up a spot for one of you guys
I was also put on hold in the big wave yesterday :/
Complete 7/18, put under review on 8/24! LizzyM 70-71, ORM. Disappointed but who knows what will happen with the holds!
Did the people put on hold receive emails or was it on the portal?
