Hey guys, make sure to check your portal everyday. Sometimes the interview invite won’t get to your inbox for whatever reason. I found out that I was invited for an interview on the portal and thought I’d receive an email the next day but I ended up not getting one. So I called the admissions and they told me it was actually sent out a week before. I had them resend it to another email address.

Same thing just happened to me. I'm calling first thing in the morning since I have no idea when exactly I was invited

You’ll be fine. You’re expected to respond to the invite within 5 days but they’ll reset it for you. You just might not get the interview date you want. I had to sign up for a later date because all the early slots were filled by the time I was able to schedule it.

Gotcha. Would you mind sharing the upcoming dates?

I have similar stats, completed July, interviewed in November and accepted December. There's hope!
I also have similar stats. So I want to know if you submitted a rec letter from a MD or DO or both? Thanks.

Any chance that someone who signed up to interview in one of the three September dates would wanna swap with my 10/02 interview? I start training for my new job 10/01 and really can't miss my second day. This is a long shot but its worth a try

MD letter, but apparently the MD there worked there... which I completely forgotten about until months after my acceptance. From a few of my classmates with questionable motives/stats, I think connections can definitely help in the process.

Where would you see it?

After application received, does anyone have a sentence saying to check your to do list? Mine says that but it also shows complete under the box.

Can anyone tell me if we get to use notecards or something to write on during the MMI's? If you can't reveal that, I understand! I was just curious and it didn't say on their website if you could or not.

They didn't allow that last year, so I'd go with no.

FYI- COMLEX scores for Class of 2019 was highest in the country. In addition, Class of 2020's Step 1 average is 230, with about 80% of class taking it. Official stats aren't out for that yet though. Class of 2020's COMLEX scores are also reportedly on par with last year's but those stats aren't out yet either.

I HAVE SIMILAR STATS. WHAT DID YOUR REC LETTERS LOOK LIKE IF YOU DON'T MIND ANSWERING. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

I have 4 LOR's that are all from physicians that I've worked with for the past 5 years (2MD and 2DO TCOM graduates). I am a PA who graduated from UNTHSC's PA program several years ago so that may have also helped.

would anyone be willing to share some tips for this interview? Where the MMI ethically based or standardized patients? More "what is your opinion on..." ? Or "youre in this scenario..."? Ive had a lot of variation with my MMI interviews and im trying to prepare as much as i can for this one!! Thanks so much!

Was reading that TCOM’s white coat ceremony has a 4 ticket limit for each student. I was not too excited to read this since I have 5 people in my immediate family (3 brothers, and mom & Dad). I also was hoping my girlfriend could be there as well if I am lucky enough to get accepted. I’ve been looking forward to that moment for a very long time now. Can a current student elaborate on if there are any avenues to get more tickets or allow more family members than 4 into the ceremony?

I had an update about a job i listed I would get in August but I havent received the position yet, should i email and update this change in my planned activities? I already interviewed here.

Each student gets 4 tickets because of the increased volume of attendees due to the whole "one university" (one ceremony for all the disciplines.) There will be a specified date for you to request 2 additional tickets online - it's pretty simple and takes only a minute. I know multiple people that had 8-10 people coming in and they all were able to get enough if not more than enough tickets because your friends and peers can transfer you their tickets.

I know this isn't really a 'chance me' thread but I'm losing a bit of hope just because I'm technically considered an international applicant- would any of you know how rigid they are with admissions for internationals? I've lived in Texas for 15 years, graduated high school and college from here, so I'm qualified for lower tuition but still unsure about admissions. For reference, submitted 7/9 transmitted 7/27 secondary submit on 8/14 LM ~68-69. Still waiting for that II!

Join the crowd, same LM transmitted 6/27 not one II yet! Maybe this next week. Also, reapplicant.

Ooo good luck to you! Are you also here on visa, if you don't mind me asking? It's a bummer because TCOM is the only school in Texas that reviews students with no greencard, and I reallly don't wanna go out-of-state.

No, born and raised in Texas.

Anyone on this thread interview there yet? How was the “file check with TCOM Admissions Staff”? Like what exactly happens between that and how many interviewers and scenarios for the MMI right before? Have an II on 9/7 here.
Hi, I have an interview here on 10/2. Are we required to speak for the full 6 min to answer the question? And did anyone that was in the room ask questions or say anything during your response? If you can't answer I will understand, thanks!

Without compromising the integrity of the questions, I can tell you that definitely be prepared for a “conversation” more as opposed to just you talking for 6 minutes straight. Most MMI’s are conducted as conversation formats (like real life scenarios).

For those who have interviewed or are about to, when did y’all receive more info about the interview? I’m interviewing on 10/16 and just want to have an idea of when I should be getting more details on where to go, what to bring, etc.

I received an email with my interview agenda 2 days after signing up for the interview. It provided the time, location, schedule, and parking information.

Oh dang! I signed up like 2 weeks ago and haven’t received anything except the confirmation right after I signed up. Hm. All you had to do to accept the invite was just the signup genius thing, right?

Yup, if you confirmed a date on signupgenius you should be good. I would suggest contacting them next week if you still haven't heard from them since the email provided both a schedule as well as a parking permit.

Complete early August, new MCAT scores came in 8/24 and got a new recommendation from a physician who attended this school 9/15 , still waiting on an II though

Last year I was complete here super early (late May) with poor stats and didn’t receive an II so even though I haven’t heard anything back yet I’m a little more at ease with the small improvements I made
