I've got my numbers crossed.. For clarification, I called and Monica said they will start making personal calls 10/17, which will continue throughout that week (the 10/17 start was clear, but it ambiguously seems it takes a couple days for them to get through all the calls).
Monica is the real mvp

@Undercovernerd Do you know what happens if we aren't accepted. Will we receive an email? What options are given--I remember something about an applicant pool.

Fortunate to have an interview with VTC on 20OCT18! I'm planning to get to town in the early afternoon the day before - if anyone wants to go on a bike ride on one of their cool trails before the reception, let me know! For me, it'll be a good way to get to know Roanoke and burn some anxiety off before the weekend starts.

After all the acceptance calls, they'll email those that have interviewed but were not accepted to say you're in the active applicant pool, which means you'll be reassessed in March/April for the last round of acceptances.

They only offer acceptances for interviews that have happened since the last round of acceptances (so those that have interviewed by next week will either be accepted next week or will have to wait until March/April for an A or WL decision - i.e. you couldn't receive an acceptance during the December calls). Hope that makes sense..

Did anyone get off the applicant pool in the past? And does the applicant pool become the WL? This all makes sense and you can be rejected too as well?

Last year a subset of the active pool went to the WL, which I've been told is really small but that's hear-say (and I personally didn't get off it). I don't know if they are quick to reject less-attractive applicants or if they do rejections en masse at the end of the season...

What is the dress code for the social the night before? It looks like maybe business casual?

Business casual. Guys ranged from khaki + polos to a suit with no tie. Girls wore dresses with flats or business skirts + blouses etc. The event is pretty informal, with students and faculty present they do a good job of talking about the medical school and aspects of living in Roanoke generally

I went with slacks and a polo. Depends on how you personally want to dress but its very casual and low key. I found it relaxing and nice knowing full well I would have to wear a full suit the entire next day haha.

Does anyone know if in the past anyone has gotten off of the "active pool list" after being passed over during the first ADCOM meeting?

Has anyone heard back?
I called Monica today. ADCOM has met and decisions are made. Calls will be made tomorrow 10/17 with a follow up email later that day. For those put in applicant pool we will receive an email about that for re review in March. Monica also mentioned that there would also be some rejections.

This is so helpful- thank you so much!

I wonder how long it takes to call everyone, I doubt they can finish them all in 25 minutes

Optimistically, I'll give them until the end of the day. Otherwise, I think it's safe to assume we've been waitlisted/rejected and an email is on its way.

confused about the utter silence...shouldn't the emails be coming out by now?

Based on last cycle’s thread, it looks like an email was sent out the day after calls were made.

do people recall if this date is for the August and September group of interviewees? Or just the August....grasping onto any glimmer of hope i can...

Got the call, and the email a few hours later! I'm so happy.
Wow congrats! I assume they didn’t mention anything about whether or not they’d be done with all the calls today?

Also did not receive a call today 🙁

For those who were accepted, what are your stats and are you OOS/IS?
