Does BU offer merit based scholarship? If so is FAFSA required for those not qualified for need bases financial aid?

There is a partial dean's scholarship offered to certain applicants. I do not believe FAFSA is required

Do you know whether the dean's scholarships are given during acceptance or at a later time?

If I'm remembering correctly, the dean said they are given at the time of acceptance, but I'm speaking from memory not from experience so I could be wrong

As I said before, everyone who interviewed before November will get an email/ portal update regardless of BUSM's decision.
And, once again, there will only be a few acceptances and post-II rejections. Most applicants (>85%) will be deferred.
Official emails will be sent out soon and will most likely be staggered (ie. acceptances first and then deferments). Looks like it might be very soon if not tomorrow or next week.
A handful of highly qualified applicants have already been contacted on a individual basis (left up to the discretion of the interviewer). Many of these early contacted applicants will be given scholarships.

Usually schools like to wait before releasing the bulk of their acceptances. They don’t want to fully commit to a ton of people before seeing everyone they invited.

Sounds like you work in admissions or are really familiar with their admissions process. I’ll take your word. Thanks for the info! Also, I am assuming that tomorrow will be the day we get notified?

Scholarship decisions can come during the initial acceptance email or later on. It depends on the candidate. If you're Harvard material then you can expect that info to be given to you ASAP.

As for the exact date, I am not privy to that information. Sorry.

Yo how do u know all this stuff friendo?
 
I may or may not have gotten completely obsessive last night. Last year, after a couple of days of phone calls, portals updated at 11 am. The year before, they updated at around 2:30 pm. Quite a few people got accepted via email having never received a call before both years. Acceptances came first, then rejections and then deferrals about a week later. Also, the acceptances did not all come out at one time, there was more of a slow trickle.

So there you have it lol

Thanks for the summary! That makes me nervous for next week since I didn't get an A (yet??) but we can hold out hope until any official email/portal update 🙂

My guess is that the portal is going to update today, but of course I have no actual idea.

And I think you shouldn't be nervous! So many people last year and the year before only got notified about their acceptance by a portal update so if you haven't yet been contacted by your interviewer it's not over yet

anyone know if any acceptance calls/emails/portal updates went out on a weekend in the past? thanks!
 
Sorry for the day, but A on Thursday with a call from my interviewer!! OOS, interviewed early November, no update on portal yet
 
Some people are still waiting, I guess those decisions will come now that the first batch received their acceptances.
 
Not sure if they'll release any decisions tomorrow, but if they do I wish everyone the best of luck! I was so impressed with BU on interview day and am crossing my fingers for good news either this week or in March 🙂
