also deferred 🙁 anybody know of anyone else who was deferred and accepted later? i can't help feeling like this is a waitlist/soft rejection

I got deferred as well.

From what I remember from interview day, they'll review you again at the next meeting. You can be deferred all the way until the last meeting, at which point they'll put you on the waitlist. I believe those numbers are from the waitlist that is formed at the end of the cycle.

I know how you feel though, I'm sitting on a waitlist and was deferred at the other school I interviewed at. It's painful. But keep your head up, they might accept you at a future meeting!

Last cycle I got deferred but then got a WL later so its def not a WL (I interviewed super late so they basically WL or R everybody at their last meeting)

I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet - peruse through last year's thread!

By paying the deposit I am not committing to enroll correct? It's just to hold my acceptance (which we can hold multiple of) right?

Yes. Commit to enroll is done through AMCAS, not the school itself.

I heard that it actually depends on who interviewed you, which may explain why people on the same interview day have had different responses (or lack thereof). Unsure if it's 100% true but provides somewhat of clarity

On interview day, they told my group to feel free to call to check on your status post-interview. I don't think it would look bad to call once but if you continually called it would haha

Update: called admissions office to check on status and the committee just hasn’t gotten to my application yet. They said I would probably hear back at the next decision date. Interview was 9/16. The lady on the phone was very pleasant so no ragrets

I was put on Hold. I saw some people got straight up Rejected Pre-II. Not particularly optimistic, just curious.
