For someone that has interviewed, what is the schedule of the interview day? Is the actual interview at the end of the day? I am in the PM group if that matters.

I was complete 7/22.

It was the day after Thanksgiving, but it WAS my birthday! It was funny because some of the other schools I applied to sent me a happy birthday email. So I thought that was what it was. Ehhhhh no. 🤣:smack:

That's so sweet lol Sorry you're on hold but I'm kinda jealous some of the schools you applied to cared enough to tell you happy birthday haha.

Edit: Also Happy belated!

I interviewed on Tuesday in the PM group. You start with introduction presentations and then go into a curriculum overview. After that you have lunch with a student who is evaluating you during lunch and during the tour. Then depending on your schedule you either have your interview or the essay. My interview was the last slot so 3:30

How did you like it? Were the interviews there stressful or pretty laid back?

Deferred people: who are you addressing update letters to? Are you just saying "Dear Admissions Committee?"

Hello all! I'm sure this has been asked many times, what does it mean exactly to have your application on hold? Any stories that anyone can share? What is one to do at this point that may help?

Being on hold at Drexel is for all intents and purposes an R. Not a single person last year reported a II on here following an R

Congrats! We’re any of you on hold prior? And did you send updates?

OOS - Placed on Hold on 11/23/19 - Silence since

I am interviewing december 11th and have a relatively strong update. Should I wait until after my interview or send it beforehand?

theyre definitely not going in order or stratifying that hard by stats (im a relatively low stat applicant). I think drexel is more random in selection and they have been sending out IIs to july people recently
I have like super not great stats and got ONE OF the first IIs so it’s def not by stats.

Do y’all lower stat folks with IIs have a ton of clinical experience?? Also in general based on skimming this thread a Hold is pretty much an R? Anyone have any luck after sending an update or anything of that sort?

I think a hold is basically an R from what people are saying. I did not send an update. I believe my clinical and research was pretty cookie cutter but my community service was unique and thats what they saw

Does anyone know where students are going for research if hahn is closed?

did

did they specify where?
I mean they pretty much were like acknowledging that the core research facility was closing but there would be opportunities at all their clinical sites
no, because they do not have a major academic hospital anymore and that was where most of their research was - they're likely going to be scrambling over the next few years to figure this out.
@limeyguydr you often take this definitive tone on this forum like you know exactly whats going on and its very misleading. Its not a scramble.

A couple of my classmates research at St. Christopher's, CHOP, Temple, Penn, and Jefferson.
one of my friends just started a major ped onc project at CHOP with an ALSF grant and all it took was a few emails to become a part of the team.

I was part of the unlucky crew whose research got shut down with the HUH closure, so I'm a little annoyed, but I found another project at Temple a couple weeks ago.

okay, let’s not start talking about other people like that. It is not misleading at all to say it is a scramble because that’s how it was presented to us at Interview day!!!! This exact question was asked on my day in September and they literallt said during the q and a “we don’t have a centralized research location right now, we are currently FIGURING OUT alternatives, and the clinical sites might be good options”. It’s not misleading to literallt repeat what your school told us on interview day.

To cite my source it was a direct quote I wrote down from Dr. Dana Farabaugh @Melchizedek

@Melchizedek its not fair to come on here and get mad at us for the information YOUR school is giving to us on interview day.
