2019-2020 Drexel

I got waitlisted yesterday, I’m wondering since I don’t have any other offers, if I should send a letter of intent along with my fall grades? Does anyone know if they only want letters of intent if you already have other acceptances but prefer this particular school?

You mean deferred right? I sent in an update letter combined with a LOI on Monday but got silence yesterday.

I wouldn’t send it in right away, though. Give it several weeks so they can look at your application again with fresh eyes and the letter attached.

Same fam. Will they give out decisions on Monday too, which was scheduled as seen on the portal?

I'm presuming not. Doesn't seem like anyone got any R's this time around so Monday's probably the time for them, or silence as per usual

I’m sorry to hear that :/. Did they suggest in their pre-II R email to apply to their DPMS?

Hi. No worries. Thanks for the kind words. No they did not, I was just curious who else on here was going to apply to potentially get some feedback/guidance.

Any current M3 or M4s here willing to answer a few questions about Drexel? I currently have two acceptances and I am trying to weigh them out

If someone has withdrawn their application after interview invitation, did you do so on portal, or email, or both

For anyone who has had a pm interview, what time did you get done? I am trying to figure out when to schedule my departing flight...

Any current students here who are willing to share their experiences with clinical rotations? Are the affiliated sites too far and do they provide housing close to the sites? I just want to make sure that I'd be happy if I go here

If there are still people who haven’t heard back from July, you should probably be patient when complete 4 months later in November
I am just wondering because some schools don't review chronologically. I am not sure if this is the case here.

I don’t know of any school that reviews strictly chronologically or not. I think all will review certain apps earlier based on things like legacy, URM, stats, etc.. The problem is that no applicant knows exactly what those things are. I misread your first post and thought that you said “has anyone not heard back from November”

Their process does not seem to be strictly chronological. (E.g. I submitted all of my materials in the beginning of July and first heard back in early fall, while a good friend who was complete around the same time hasn't heard a word from them. Our stats are identical, while our work/volunteer/life experiences differ greatly.)

We're all rooting for you (or anyone else) to crack the algorithm by which they review apps, though! And best of luck to you this year.

That's ok I literally was wondering if I can still hope.

got a pre-II hold yesterday. It's small but it's a glimmer of hope that isn't an R 🤓

I sent an update a couple weeks ago so that probably made them take me seriously lol
Wishing for the same luck as you! I sent an update a week ago, (During the break) hopefully It'll get me somewhere!

Have you heard plans for tower health to establish more residency programs now that they are partnered with drexel?

I havent heard anything about this, no. They initially wanted to, but the HUH slots werent purchased by Tower in the auction, which is still being fought in court.

Tower Health did get two Drexel residencies, FM and Psych.

@ciestar how are you graded 3rd year? What's the percentage breakdown of evaluation vs. shelf?

MS3 is on a P/HP/H system.
All clerkships the shelf is worth 25% of your grade, your evaluation is 50-75% of your gradr, and some clerkships (like surgery has an oral exam) have other things for your grade. Thankfully these “other” things are just easy boosts to your grade.

I attached the shelf cutoffs for this year. In order to HP/H a clerkship, you have to get the shelf score too.
