Has anyone sent Duke a thank you note post-interview? If so, how did you send it (uploading it to the portal vs. emailing the admissions office)?

I sent mine directly to the Office of Admissions email (thank you in the body of the email, not attachment) and they sent me a personal response, which was very kind!
 
Does anyone know how to go about submitting an update to Duke? I recently got to present a poster at a conference and want to notify admissions about it.

AHHH, I noticed that you can only upload documents up to one week after the interview date. Does that mean I cannot send updates anymore? Or am I still able/is it advisable to email admissions directly?

unless they’ve changed the process recently, if it’s been more than one week or so after your interview date, your complete application with interview has already been reviewed by the admissions committee, so I don’t know if there’s much of a benefit to sending an update.
 
So just to be clear, based on everything I've seen on the forums, Duke doesn't do pre-interview rejections correct?

They only pre-interview reject applicants post-II, so you're good
 
Can someone explain the essay you write at your interview? Is it about an MMI topic? How long do they give you?

You get the allotted time plus a small amount (7-9 min). Not as much as essay as a small writing prompt. Without giving too much away, it falls within the broad range of typical MMI topics.

Does anyone know if Duke is receptive to alternative interview date requests?

I recently received an II but it is a date that is coming up very very soon, which makes me think someone cancelled and they're hoping I fill that spot. I don't want to sound ungrateful and I am honestly thrilled to have this opportunity, but it will be difficult to manage flying across the country on short notice especially being employed full-time.

In addition, what time would be good to schedule a return flight? Is 6pm cutting too close?

Just a follow up for anyone in the future, they allowed a rescheduling.

Also, for those who have interviewed, would a flight departing at 6pm be cutting too close? It seems like interview day ends at 4pm and the email said it might take up to an hour to get to the airport, which is not including security and such, it seems risky or maybe I'm just being neurotic.

I have TSA-precheck. Made a 6:06 flight with like an hour to spare. RDU is really small.

Made a 5:30 flight with 15 minutes to spare. Shout-out to the students I split the Uber with who are all sdn'ers.
 
Anybody interview for the Duke MSTP have an update on when the first round of acceptances will go out? When I interviewed in September they said they typically release some in December and some in February, but that they didn't know if they will be allowed to do that this year.
 
Interviewed here on the first day and Duke is my first choice at the moment. Does anyone have suggestions on where/who to send a letter of intent post-interview? Would Dr. Yee be the person to send the LOI? Or the general admissions email? Thanks!

I got an II yesterday, and when I checked the portal there were no dates available. I just got a call while I was in the shower like 10 minutes ago from an MD at Duke asking me about scheduling my interview...very confused and have never heard about phone call interview scheduling...
 
So... I submitted this app V late (9/3) after my second interview. Do you guys know what date they're on?
 
Just updated my app. (Hopefully it leads to some good news... lol.) Does anyone know though what the "Action" tab is for? Does it show you when they look at it/accept it or something?

Well I saw someone else sent a general update and since there is a section about "anything not included on AMCAS" I just decided to go ahead and do it. I mean the worst they can do is not look at it I would think... Lol it just shows you are still interested in their school in my opinion! But you do you, I haven't received an interview here so it is all assumption.

I know MD is silent/end of season, probably the same for MSTP but not sure
