What does the under review message say when you're being re-reviewed post-hold?

Got that R today post re-review hold... at least they were nice in their email

Placed on hold 08/20, big ol' R yesterday. Good luck to all who are still in the running!

Of course, I don’t want to do anything to annoy the adcom. I’m conflicted because GW was (and still is) very high on my list going into the cycle, so I don’t want there to be too much time between the WL notification and me sending a letter to convey my interest. At the same time, I’m not sure if it would be better just to wait until I send a (potential) letter of intent.
I'm in the same boat. Unsure when I should send my letter of interest.

If you’re already on the waitlist I would wait until the cycle is more over. Do they accept people off the waitlist before like April! If not just wait!

I'm going to assume because of his signature, he means interview waitlist aka him being on hold for an interview? Not 100%

My interview is coming up in early December. Any advice from others who have just gone through it?

Just be yourself and enjoy the day! When I went, everyone there was super nice.

I second that! Don’t get stuck in your head, just be present.

I think knowing why I wanted to go GW helped me a lot. Know about the different opportunities that you would like to take advantage of at GW. I had so many to talk about.

It was a very low-stress day! As someone else already said, just be able to answer why you want to go to GW and what opportunities you would take advantage of (look into their mission, curriculum, scholarly concentrations, public health opps, research, student groups, etc). Maybe be prepared to ask specific questions about what I just listed so there's no awkward silences during lunch with the second year medical students and at the end of the student interview. Also go over typical interview questions. They didn't ask anything out of the ordinary.

Oh and the interview day ends before 3! I was done by 1. I think a few interviewees had later interviews and were done by 2 though.

I mostly agree with this. The only thing that I would add is that on my interview day, a few of us ended up having the day end at or after 3. It just depends on who is interviewing or if they are running late

Anyone here interviewing this Thursday?! Getting very excited/nervous and would love to meet one of y'all!

Hey all, crowdsourcing a question: I was put on hold from day 1, as far as I can tell, back in July and am still on hold. I recently received a II from another school in the area and will be in DC in January (coming in from abroad, so its a pretty significant journey). I've read that GW may not be receptive to ITAs, but do we think it may be worthwhile to try since I've been on hold for 4 months anyways?

Worst thing they can do is say no!

They seem to like updates. I would try sending an ITA.

Yup. That’s where I sent mine, and the person overseeing that account delivers it to whoever interviewed you.

The women in Adcom told me there’s an attachments tab in the portal where I can delete previous attachments I submitted. I do not see this-anyone know what she is talking about?

Alternate list this morning. I interviewed 10/8.
3.65 GPA (2.4,3.9,3.9,3.9 yearly breakdown)
514 MCAT.

they won’t give me any information on my position on the list at all. Can someone please tell me how many people get accepted through the alternate list, how feasible ? How much hope should I put into this?

I have 5 interviews total

UCSD: waitlisted
EVMS: waitlisted
GW: waitlisted
Drexel: interview is tomorrow
VCU: interview is in February

I am not even sad I am numb at this point. I feel like a joke. 3 interviews so far and they all thought I was trash apparently. Pathetic.

Out of the 3 friends I’ve had interview at GW in the past, all 3 were initially waitlisted. Out of the 3, 1 was ultimately accepted in May. Small sample, but it’s definitely possible- I know many of the student interviewers on my day also were initially waitlisted.

Not trying to invalidate how bad you're feeling at all. But look at it this way: They didn't reject you. They put you on the waitlist because they thought you were a competitive applicant. There's a chance you can make it off those waitlists. You have 2 tangible interviews left. Make the most of those and be your best self. This interview season is very far from over friend. You have what it takes, and you will succeed. Keep your head up.

I'm in a very similar situation as you! Similar stats and also 3 WLs. You are not trash because if I agreed you were trash, I'd be saying that about myself and I'm trying to be a positive person here! You also did not get R's and many many people get off of waitlists by the end of the cycle. Right now all we can do is keep chugging and killing the interviews we have left! Concentrate on Drexel tomorrow, and then VCU after that. One step at a time, we got this.
