You are informed that your are in the Final Pool in January. You are accepted or placed on the waitlist in March.

I've been a lurker through this application cycle but I felt compelled to make this account because I have been kicking myself for not saying something to a fellow interviewer at my interview at Carver yesterday (11/20).

Yesterday at my interview we had a session with one of the assistant deans. This dean wanted each of us to go around and introduce ourselves, say our favorite food, and ask him a question. The first kid chosen did not have a question prepared, as he was sort of put on the spot. The dean replied to this by saying, "are you serious? you don't have a question for me? This is your one opportunity." The kid apologized and said he would probably think of something soon but unfortunately no, he didn't have one. The dean then continued to act suprised and embarass this poor kid, and in my opinion displayed a huge lack of empathy in a nerve-racking situation. I really loved Carver, and would likely matriculate if accepted, but this dean definitely left a negative impression. It's unfortnuate that the best schools often attract large egos. So I just wanted to say to that kid if your on here - I'm sorry you were treated that way, and I think we all felt for you while simultaneously thinking "****.. I better come up with a question". Best of luck!

Lucky for that student, that interaction should have no bearing on his performance. The interview is standardized and blind. So thank goodness for that, and I hope he can sleep well tonight lol 🙁

Surprising to hear this...all the faculty members that interacted with my group were extremely down-to-earth IMO

Agreed. Everyone was so nice, and the Dean he was talking about had sort of a sarcastic sense of humor. I thought all the faculty members on interview day were very welcoming and kind.

Has anyone received a rejection after their interview?
I don’t think they do rejections right now. My understanding is those who haven’t been accepted go into the final pool in January, then in March everyone in the final pool will hear back. I am not sure what percentage are rejections because they said the OOS waitlist typically has massive movement, and the IS less. But I don’t know what that actually translates to for A vs. ranked WL vs. R. If anyone has insight on that it would be cool

Besides clicking accept offer and fafsa is there anything else we should do? Just wait around and enjoy life haha

Interviewed 10/9. Past the 4-6 weeks deadline, so assuming im in the final pool. But a couple people from Sep just got the A. Im guessing all hope is not lost? Anyone else in the same bucket?

Many of us are still waiting from September so dont worry! Final pool will be released mid January we still got some time in our buckets!🤣

I wouldn't assume you're in the final pool until Christmas. Based on previous threads and what they said at the interview, I think they present a mix of both September/October interviewers and newer interviewers to the admissions committee during December.

Good luck to everyone this Tuesday! I just interviewed yesterday so it'll still be a hot minute before I hear back. It would probably be wishful thinking to hope to hear back on the next Tuesday but fingers crossed they don't keep me waiting too long!

Has anyone gotten accepted?
A few people have posted for sure. They prioritized the diversity day on 10/25. Otherwise it’s mostly been late September interviews, I might’ve seen one early October?
