2019-2020 Mercer

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anybody know if they’ll notify people tmrw morning or in the late afternoon/evening like today?

Do any of you guys know anyone who was deferred ED who got accepted? I feel like everyone who got deferred ED are just going to be waitlisted.

Darn what’s going on I can’t believe it. I did not hear anything from my end.... I don’t know what’s going on?!?! Well that’s a wrap then we shall wait and see what they do in March and then good luck to everyone after....

Are yall getting calls from ADCOM's or an interviewer? I was told it was one of your interviewers' responsibility to call.

Accepted today. Got the call at 5:50PM. Interviewed in November. Good luck, everyone! Don't lose hope! Keep in mind that not all acceptees get a phone call. They recommend, but not require, that the committee interviewer call.

I was deferred ED, interviewed in November, and accepted today. Don't lose hope!

Did anyone from January or February get accepted? I think I am going to lose my mind.... I may need a therapist after this admission cycle lolol

You have been very positive the past few posts don't lose hope. Maybe you were one of the few who didn't get a phone call but still got the A. You got this! 🙂

For those who got a call, did it come from a private number?

Did anyone get that "AAMC virtual fair" email at 8:15 and is super annoyed at the timing? Thought for sure it would be an email from mercer! This is a grueling process, and I think its best if I get off SDN and accept the fact there's nothing to be done on here to increase my chances. Think this site increases anxiety rather than decreases it

Good luck everyone, and for future people reading this: Work your hardest to make your application the best possible and then live your life!

Was this the final release date or is there one more in March prior to waitlist notifications?

Congrats to all the people that got accepted! For those of us who haven’t heard back yet, is there another adcom meeting between now and March 15? Or should we assume if we didn’t hear back today then we got waitlisted/rejected?

I think there is another one around March 10-12 because in last years thread people got accepted and waitlisted around that time....

Lol ugh I knew my committee interview didn’t go to well but really hoped for my other interview to somehow offset it. I guess it’s time to await eventual waitlist/rejection

what do you mean by "committee interview?"

I feel you. I thought both my interviews went super well but I’m still in the same waitlist/rejection boat

On interview day, the first Interview is usually with someone on the committee, and the second is non-committee. My first one, the committee one, did not go as well. The non committee one went great though.

+1 my committee interview did not go well. You are not alone

I left my committee interview feeling like my interviewer was my best friend (I didn't act unprofessionally, that was just the guy's interviewing style) so I think I've had my hopes up. My non-committee interview is the one that felt like I was answering questions from an AI robot....

Did you get in?

Ok did we have the same interviewers?? FWIW I got choked up and almost started crying in the non-committee interview LOL. Best way to play it off: I literally stopped mid sentence, paused for a moment, addressed I was nervous because I was incredibly excited to be there, reintroduced myself, and started over. Result: A!

I loved Mercer so much and it fits many of my personal missions as a future physician, but I will ultimately be withdrawing my acceptance here soon.
I hope it goes to one of y'all deserving humans on here!!!! Best of luck everyone!

Does anyone know what the academic calendar for the upcoming (or previous) year is?

I hope you’re not accepting because you got into your top choice/another positive reason for you. Thanks for letting us know!

Anyone that interviewed in January or February hear anything back? It seems like the acceptances went out to interviewers from last year.

Those who submitted update letters, did you address them to a specific dean or anything, or just to the admissions committee?
