Yes you can be asian and part of URM category. Hmong/viet and one or two other sub categories. Asians arent homogenous.

If it's not past the deadline, it's not too late. Obviously there are advantages to applying early, but don't let a person on this anonymous forum discourage you from pursuing this. You still have a chance - put your sideblinders on and shoot your shot!

Definitely a low stress interview day! The admissions office was incredibly welcoming. The facilities were just about brand new and everyone seemed pretty happy so it was a great experience overall.

Yes I agree! I had my interview with the Dean and he literally memorized most of my application. He was super chill too. This is my top choice after interviewing. Goodluck!! 🙂
 
II today! Can anybody speak to travelling to Quinnipiac? Flights are kind of expensive but I’m not sure what kind of public transit infrastructure exists there.

Not sure where you’re coming from, but if it’s somewhere in the northeast/midatlantic there’s Amtrak to new haven! That’s what I did. Once you’re there though it’ll be uber’s/lyft’s to get around, netter is definitely in suburbia

To add on to this, the Best Western near Quinnipiac offers free pick-up from the new haven bus station or airport, so staying there saves money.

Personally, I am flying into New York and renting a car.

Coming from the mid-Atlantic indeed. I looked at Amtrak, and google said it was, like, 9 hours. Which seemed like a lot but could be totally normal as far as I’m aware.

It was over before 5pm. The tour was last and it ran alittle bit over, but that is because we got distracted with the tour guides talking, which was totally fine (it was a very casual tour). The entire day was very relaxed, and very enjoyable.

Does anyone know if QU takes a greater proportion of interviewees from earlier interviews? I know some schools (like South Florida) work that way, and I am just curious if other schools work the same way.

Ohhhhh I see. So it is a rolling admission thing. That makes alot of sense since they fill seats as they go. Thanks!

@gonnif just went into detail on the main pre-med forum about this. Apparently it makes no difference when the interview is (as long as you get one). It's a good read! Let me know if you want the link!

Does interviewing in mid-october vs. mid-january have a huge effect on chances?

I have an interview in a few weeks at a school for which the post-II OOS acceptance rate is almost single digit low. I also recently received an interview at a school I'm much more excited about. I want to reschedule this interview so I could interview at a school I'm much more excited about but...

The general rule of thumb is 2-2.5 times the number of matriculants. If someone has the actual data they can chime in, but that would be 55-65% post-II acceptance for IS
