Did anyone have a pre-mat and second look tab appear after getting accepted that is now gone? Wondering why it is not showing up anymore...

The dates were from last year. They took it down to fix it

For current students, when do you take STEP 1? Is it right after pre-clinical or after core clerkships?

Regardless of what the website says, it used to be right after pre-clinical but it's now a 3rd year rotation. You can take it the 1st block of 3rd year or the last block, or anywhere in between. There's some data to suggest step 1 scores are better if you take it later since you have more overall knowledge, but you also forget stuff, and IMHO, taking it later hurt my clerkship scores since each clerkship exam contains left field WTF questions could have been answered, had I re-learned it for step 1 or remembered it from years 1/2. My best guess is the overall benefit of step 1 timing is highly variable, depending on the student.

Thanks! Is there a dedicated step study time then? And how long?

Yes, as of this writing, 6 weeks, which is 1 block of 3rd year.

Also, I'd rank how much you like each school, any really big differences in cost (a few thousand/year shouldn't be any factor whatsoever in the big scheme of things, but $30k/year is), local social support, no required lecture attendance, all over when their students take step.

+2 lol

Anyone know what the school's average Step 1 score is?

Man guys I was complete 9/14 and knowing that Netter ( along with some other MD schools on my list) send pre-II rejections my heart skips a beat every time I see a new email in my application email address. I always feel like it's an R from here or Tufts or UMASS or something.

If it helps at all, it looks like Netter didn't send out pre-II Rs until the end of January last year (according to last year's thread).

P.S. The adorable cat in your avatar honestly makes me happy just by looking at it.

Theheheheh thank you! 😀
Oh man, that's almost worse...knowing I can not hear back from this school for ages. Although I think UMASS and Tufts actually do hard R's early on, right? ( in case you know). I mean, since I was complete a little later it may not be a hard cutoff, but if I don't hear anything back within the next month I can assume it's an R from here.

Tufts and UMASS have already sent Rs, I happen to know off the top of my head bc i'm waiting on the same schools

I don't think you should assume a hard R if you don't have an II from here within a month! I also saw in last year's thread that people who applied July/August were getting II into February.

(I'm going to keep chanting this to myself because I also do not have an II here yet.)

Congrats!! Do you mind sharing your stats?
Inmail me! I have a 67 LizzyM I think. It's not the best measure though because I did a post-bac and I did the science classes for the first time as a post-bac (sgpa: 3.87, cgpa: 3.5). I have at least 5000 hours of clinical exp, 3000 research, 500+ shadowing, 250 volunteer.

I think they did start hard R’s according to here:

Class of 2024 rejection list (*official list*)(enter at own risk)

Oh interesting. Strange that nobody has posted about getting Rs on this thread, but it looks like the info for Netter came from Reddit, which I guess could explain that.

Thanks for the info!
