So I took two non sci GPA in the F19 to finish my degree, and thought that before an II/admit offer, there was no need to send an academic update.
I decided to finally call admissions and ask, and they said I should send an unofficial update, as in email admissions, and then ACOMAS will "populate them." ( I think she meant do the official academic update as well as send an unofficial email.)
I was ..not aware of that. Although- I think I'll just send my most recent transcript as well as do the official update through ACOMAS , and not necessarily send that unoffocial email, bc that just seems like unnecessary clutter.

were you on high priority waitlist or regular?
I was on the high priority waitlist. I received a call from admissions saying that I was on the waitlist around mid December and told me I am pretty much in. He said the class was full and that I should be accepted soon.

accepted or current students anyone know when we getting our financial aid package??

If you mean scholarships/grants, if you didn’t get any info at the time of acceptance then it’s all loans. If you call the financial aid office/set up an appointment they can walk you through how much you can take out, when it will be dispersed, etc

They sent me an email saying that there has been a decision on my application post interview but when I logged in the portal there's nothing. Should I call?

ya, I would call. Unless its one of those schools that only does updates in writing- I would call. ( and even so, at those schools the call goes to voicemail)

What types of waitlists are there? I received notice that I was placed on the "alternate list" on 2/18.. does this mean my chances are slim?

Did it say "alternate list". I was emailed that I was on the "waitlist". From my understanding there is High priority waitlist and the regular waitlist. You still have chances if you are on the regular waitlist but make yourself known. Obviously high priority is a better position but admissions said being on any waitlist is still good and you still got chances!

Does this place do hard R's up front? Havent heard anything for over three mo., I like closure teheheh

on alternative list too, wonder what the difference between that and wait list is

Yes, it said alternate list. Not sure how that differs from waitlist.

Does anybody know how many people are on the high priority waitlist?
what if your on the alternative waitlist and they keep adding people to the high priority, it seems like people on alternative waitlist won’t get off? Or does everybody from alternative list go to high priority?

I called yesterday the admissions office told me that they go through all the high priority waitlist before they look at the alternate list. (I am on the alternate list). She told me they are expecting alot of movement by the end of march though.

I’m just wondering if they go through high priority and keep adding me to that list, how do people on the alternative get accepted? Like won’t their still be a high priority list the more people they interview and put on that list.

Out of curiosity, are they still sending out IIs? I sent out 2 update letters, got a new letter of rec, and called admissions multiple times since I applied and all I hear is crickets... 🙁

I believe there is a HP waitlist, regular waitlist and alternate waitlist. (I’m on regular waitlist)

I’m assuming as they keep interviewing they will add people to all three lists. Those on the HP waitlist will be given an A first then Regular WL then alternate list. I don’t know any other school that has 3 different waitlists so if they have 3 that must mean in past years they have pulled from the alternate list eventually.

How much is the deposit here? A current student told me it was $200 a few years ago. Can anyone confirm it's still the same? It may reflect how much waitlist movement we can all expect in the coming months.

I think that was about right-- maybe $195?

Admissions told me there was only 2 waitlists and that the alternative list is the same as the regular waitlist. I'm confused why my letter would say waitlist and Someone else's say alternative list. Why would it have two names ? Anyway they do interviews until somewhere in March. By May 15th everyone accepted to multipe DO schools must only accept one school. That is when the most movement happens. I was told you could get accepted the day before schools starts and that they do reach the regular waitlist. Once people on HP or either accepted or withdraw they will go to the regular wait list aka alternate list. The HP will stop growing because interviews are stopping soon.

Anyone who’s going to accepted students day know what the dress is like both days?? Just wondering like casual or more business casual

I’m not able to attend on Friday but I’d imagine casual dress is ok. I’m thinking business casual for Saturday though.

did you guys get a confirmation for both Friday and Saturday or just Saturday? I only got one

I was wondering this too. I’m thinking business casual though. Better to be slightly over dressed than under dressed for this type of event I think.

Does anyone know the turnaround time after the interview? I had mine on February 25th and am being a little impatient (but excited!)

just found out I was placed on the high priority waitlist! I interviewed 2/25. does anyone have any idea of my chances of getting off?

does anyone know if there are people who haven't been taken off of the HPWL? just trying to gauge if I should get my hopes up or not considering it's late in the cycle

I'm on the regular waitlist and they said I have a chance to get off around june/July but they can't say for sure. And I can only be accepted after they go through all of the HPWL. They said that the last interviews will be next week, unlike other years where it went into April. So they will soon stop adding to the list. I know the HPWL is not that large stated by one of the admissions people I called. There was years in the past where they did not go through the whole list and there was years where they did and went on to the regular waitlist. Every year is different but I am hearing more towards they will get through the list but only time will tell.

I spoke to admissions and they mentioned the waitlist is ranked chronologically, so if you were placed on HPWL first then you get removed first. They also mentioned that they see a lot of movement around april after AMCAS makes all applicants commit to one school.

Have people already started receiving offers of acceptance from the HP waitlist?

Yes they have taken people off about 3 wks ago according to admissions! However new people keep getting placed on as well. This will end soon when interviews end next wk and are reviewed! I was told the WL ranking is based on many factors. I know the time you were placed on it is a factor but does not necessarily say where you are on the list. In addition, admissions is not allowed to tell you were you are on the list because it is always changing. By May if not earlier everyone for this cycle should be fully processed and it's just a waiting game. Most movement is April 30, which is the last day for someone with multiple MD acceptances to pick one school. Thus, many will decline their acceptance Or even withdraw their spot from the WL. Opening spots for the rest of us!

Speaking of, does AACOMAS have a way of having students choose and commit to a school? I hear a lot about the process for MD schools but I’m not too sure what needs to be done, if anything, to commit to Rowan
