Just got an "Rest assured! Your application is still under consideration" email. Application complete 9/8. How did they come to my application so fast caz I remember some on here said they got an II two days after such email? 😕

I received that email a week or two after being complete and haven’t heard anything else from them yet.

I'm starting to think it's kindof a soft waitlist, like they looked over it once and put your app in some pile or another to look at agian. I'm in a similar situation

No I honestly don't think it's a bad thing per say. More like it's actively being cycled but wasn't picked up for an interview that very second.

Or it could be a soft reject lol I am but a vision-less peon in this grand design we call MD apps.
 
Hey y’all I love everyone but they probably send that email to everyone !!! We will never know what it actually means and it most likely means nothing. Can we please stop trying to guess ? Or I will go insane hahaha

^^^^ Many people who received the email have gotten interviews as well, so lets stop assuming!

It's def not a reject considering two people got interviews several days after receviing the email. My guess it means they actually ahvent reviewed your app yet but just want you to know they are still reviewing apps.

It’s definitely not, several people got II after receiving that email! I think it’s exactly what it says in the e-mail, they are still reviewing us and have not yet a made a decision until they explicitly tell us.
 
Could anyone who used the student host program comment on when you heard back/when you were paired for your host?
 
Is Rush open to ITA notifications? I'm from CA and received an II to Michigan. I would like to just send out ITA to schools in the near area

Haha yes I know- I grew up in Michigan and have family in Chicago downtown. So if Rush is responsive, I was going to try my chances. The few hours drive from Michigan to Chicago is much closer and cheaper than the additional flight I would have to book. Also saves me from asking days off from my boss every single time!

I understand your logic, but that is not what ITAS are for. By making the ITAs more convenient to you, it hurts others who truly need it and who they originally are intended to help. ITAs have lost their meaning through the years, and I’m not trying to be mean but it’s because of people abusing the system like this.

Most “rules” in this cycle are professional courtesy and I would encourage you to practice that.

Yeah, I totally understand! This is my first time with ITAs and whatnot so I was just wondering if this was possible or not. Thank you for letting me know!

Yeah and for sure wasn't like calling you out or anything -- I in no way thought you had any intent. Just explaining my thought process.
 
Has anyone who got the "You're still under consideration..." email on September 24th heard back about an II?
 
I Interviewed last week and was wondering if there is anything I can do besides send thank you notes?

They never responded? Did you send the thank you notes to both the interviewers or other people as well?

In my experience, it’s rare to get a response from a thank you. Mostly because you’re not sending it directly to the person.

Right-- most dont give their business card. Obviously thats different when its direct.
 
For those of you who interviewed already, are we supposed to hear back on Oct 15 or later? Just trying to mentally prepare

I sent one and got an interview a week later. Could be spurious correlation but I got 7 interviews after I updated all of my schools but only one prior to that.

Where would the decisions be posted on the portal? I just see the status page and the last status is when my interview was scheduled?

Also @Talldoctor96 they told us they'd release decisions today right? I interviewed second group and they even gave out a sheet saying it could be today or every Friday here on out.

At least, I'm pretty sure they said today. Can't find the paper so I'll try to find it

I figure it would show as a new tab like when we received the interview invite but not sure honestly.

Not totally sure but when I was a degenerate reading through old threads I remember them describing that the new tab on portal came after email.
