Hey everyone, I know someone also asked this question but can we put activities we will have done for 1 year with helping the underserved, or do they have to be ones we’ve already done a year for? I have one that I’ve been doing for the last 5 months but not sure if I can put it in

Hello! I was wondering if someone could please post the secondary questions/character limits? Would really really appreciate it 🙂

Yes. I'm ORM so I didn't check that box but I checked the other 2.
Thanks! Too late though, I didn't haha. I took it as if I personally felt that way, and since I don't like to make excuses for myself I've never felt disadvantaged due to my ethnicity. I'm sure they can see from my background information that I am of Mexican ethnicity and they can draw whatever conclusions they want themselves.

IS LizzyM ~70. Just received secondary this morning @2AM after 6 hours of verification! Perhaps their screen is easier or automatic for IS? Regardless I'm excited, this is my dream school 🙂🙂

Just got rejected after submitting my secondary last Tuesday. Portal shows application status as "Not Advanced". My LizzyM is 72. Good luck to others!

WUD. Got the secondary too at 9:36 pm PST.

For activities section are we supposed to just put all 15 that we put on the primary?

I just put the "most meaningful" ones. So the 3 meaningful ones I put on the app and additional ones that I wanted them to focus on.

Just submitted secondary + received complete e-mail.

Do you think they would update status in a reasonable amount of time or wait until November to give the axe?

is it just me or in the portal, does everyone see an "interview status" box even though i haven't been offered one?

I wouldn't read into it. I see that as well...and I haven't even submitted the secondary yet lol

Question. If I submitted earlier does that mean my app was passed over for II?

Highly doubtful. From what I know, they have probably received at least 1000 apps so far of the secondaries given out. Perhaps they have "prioritized" the order in which they are reviewing and I got lucky to end up on top of the pile (because of stats?)

I doubt they've given out more than 40-60 II so far and they give out ~500 when all is said and done.

I'd assume that getting an II within 2 weeks of submission just means they like you, rather than meaning other people got passed up. But that doesn't mean you won't get one and ultimately get an acceptance. All just speculation, but you submitting early is likely a good thing and will get you looked at sooner rather than later.

People are getting II and rejections, yet I haven't even gotten a secondary (and not sure I will at this point)

I'm not sure that I would get very far in UCI's cycle but I'm pretty surprised that I haven't at least gotten a 2˚ from them when I've gotten one from every other UC (except SF since I didn't apply there). I've had several issues with emails going to my junk mail and i've tried my best to catch them but I'm worried I may have still missed it.
Either way, do people (whose primary was sent to the school on the first day) actually get secondaries later in the cycle or is it pretty much an R at this point?

I can’t speak to this, but I do know that UC Irvine has interviews available all the way through Spring, so it seems like their cycle runs longer than other schools! It seems very possible it will just take them a long time to truly evaluate each application!

:claps:congrats, did you pick an early interview date? how many dates are available?

Thank you 🙂 Only two dates available when I picked my dates (end of August and mid Sept), but there is a google sheet for student hosts and on that it showed interview dates all the way through April!
