Have a few anecdotes ready that you can tell concisely that demonstrate traits they want or lessons you’ve learned. Like “tell me about a time when you’ve had a conflict with a colleague” or things like that. Review all of your secondary essays from other schools too, because chances are those are good stories that you’ve picked to write about. Practice some MMI questions (Google them) just so you can get your own format down and be able to answer them somewhat concisely, and feel less nervous. Most likely the questions you practice will have nothing to do with the questions they ask, but it was good peace of mind for me.

Note taken, thank you so much!

Asking for a friend who is interviewing here at a later date: Does anyone know how much of a disadvantage it is to interview late at UNC given that admissions are rolling? I know you could be interviewing for the waitlist at that point for certain schools, so just curious!

I think this is a great question, and a concern I have as well. I think that given how late UNC's cycle seems to run I am not super concerned about this being a waitlist interview. October interviews in the past have heard back in December. January interviews have heard back in March. My friend's premed advisor was somebody who was previously on the admissions board at UNC SoM, and he also said they review applications in a very random order and not consecutively. All of these things for me point towards a January interview not being a waitlist, but hey, I'm just being cautiously optimistic

I would wager there will still be some spots left, but they have probably already offered 15-20 acceptances at this point.

Those of you who got acceptance calls did they come in the morning or later on in the day? It’s probably variable depending on who’s calling but just curious!

anyone whose gotten an acceptance, was your number a 919 number/chapel hill area code?

Is anyone else's status portal not letting them log in?

Complete on 7/24 and still nothing. At what point should one begin to worry? Lmao.

I would try and be optimistic, but trust me I know it's hard. I was complete for UNC at the end of July too and heard back from them last week! Their cycle looks like it runs really late each year. I hope you hear back soon!
