2019-2020 UNC - Chapel Hill

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyone know where they’re at with interviews or class size? I know interviews end in Feb. I’m IS and I’ve interviewed at Wake and ECU, still holding out hope for here...

I got accepted this morning. My first acceptance. I truly can't believe it. Thank you to everyone in my life. I got an email saying my decision was available at 6:17 am so I was totally thinking that was an R or a waitlist. But here we are, I made it. 🙂
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! IT'S BIG LIT

Anyone who has been accepted, how did you feel your interview went? Not sure how I feel about mine. Not bad, but not amazing.

I felt mine went decent, not as well as others. I wasn't asked any really challenging questions, so I didn't have an opportunity to really show who I am. Really just asked to elaborate on my primary application. There was definitely some things I think I said poorly.

However, I thought the group activity went well and the MMI type stations went super well.

I hit it off with my traditional interviewer because he was a runner and also was about to go into the match for a specialty that I used to scribe for so I guess I got luck there. Also I felt my MMIs went well but the more I thought about them the worse I felt so I stopped second guessing myself!

Any peeps in the thread with application changes yet? Between waiting for my W2s and hearing back from UNC, 2020 got me crazy- teaching me serious lessons in patience

Hey does anyone know the post-II acceptance rate for IS with a source? I have heard conflicting information haha

When is the latest they can give us decisions? I interviewed in September
The interview packet says that January-February they will be having interviews as well as offers of acceptance/unsuccessful notifications. Then it says that in March they will have the class roster completed by the 15th and begin to consider candidates for the waitlist.

Just to make sure I understand, does this mean about 180ish initial acceptance notifications will be mad by March 15th? Also when did you interview? Just because your information packet sounds much more up to date than mine haha

Edit: also its hard to know for sure but any rough estimates on how many acceptances have been sent out already?

Probably 180ish accepted offers by then (that does not taken into account withdraws) and I interviewed on 9/23.

To those who's portal says decided, I admire your patience. I won't contact anyone until a decision has been made but as soon as my portal switched to decided I would be calling up the admissions office to find something out

I understand where you’re coming from, but it’s as if there is some force field around doing that. Unc historically doesn’t like updates or being bothered, and I just know my fate will be determined by the decision already made lol

Same here. I figure I’ll just wait.

I totally get that, I honestly just wish they had made a decision on me already lol 🤣
