they only need to pick 20+ OOS students. Whether they do it in October or January that is a big limitation. They wont reject most likely and so it is waitlist,

Does anyone know when UT Southwestern conducted their first interviews?

if we interviewed on october 12th, is that enough time for us to be reviewed and recieve a prematch tomorrow?

most likely not; at least a week usually at a minimum but maybe the committee meets on Mondays/Fridays

decisions come out tonight?

Yea according to past years right after midnight. in 2018-2019 some people got news a day early due to a MS0 tab that appeared in their portals (not everyone who prematched had it) and then it seems in 2017-2018 some people had it show up on their pre-match acceptance withdrawal tab on TMDSAS.

The anxiety is practically crippling at this point...

🙁 see yall back on here at 11:59 CST!

Is accepting of the offer binding For OOS?
You are allowed until April 30 to fully commit to one school, so it would be acceptable to accept UTSW's offer and still wait to hear from your other schools. By April 30, or at such time you are SURE you will choose one of your acceptances over another, it is considerate to withdraw your spots at your lower preference schools.

if im OOS and interviewed on the first day of interviews (august) and i didnt hear back today, does that mean it will be safe to assume an R?

I would think they control this list more rigorously since they can only allow about 24 seats to be OOS filled. They will only admit to the limit (not saying they already did) and keep adding people when someone drops.

Is there a wave of prematch once a month from here on out until December? Just trying to get a sense of the timeline...

Any idea on how common it is for early interviewees (8/24) to not prematch on first day but prematch later on? Worried that the rest of prematch waves are geared towards newer interviewees.

I interviewed on the second interview day (back in 2016! The first day was open for me too but I chose the second) and wasn’t accepted in the first wave on 11/15 but did prematch in early December! Don’t lose hope 🙂

Feels like not as many prematches were sent out by UTSW when compared to other TX schools today just based on SDN...

yes. historically sw has more prematches. even talking to high stat texas applicants it seems like not as many were sent out on this first day of prematch. who knows though, could just be statistical bias.

@wysdoc Accepted both here and McGovern OOS, so neither of these offers are binding if I accept or withdraw candidacy anywhere else?
@DameforMVP It's a little bit different for OOS applicants, since you don't run through our TMDSAS Match Day system which narrows a person's acceptances down to one match on Match Day (Feb 3, this year).
But at this point, you as an OOS applicant may accept and hold multiple offers. National day at which schools want you to drop all but one offer and commit is April 30.
You can PM me to discuss more if you like. Getting 2 TX acceptances as an OOS is kind of a coup!
