For all of you who got an II, how long did it take you to be complete after submitting your secondary?

Congrats y’all who have interviewed and have been accepted!! <3 Do y’all have any advice for us still waiting to interview haha?

It was my first interview, and I remember sounding nervous but it turned out fine! The interviewer I had was very kind and nodded as I spoke, which was encouraging.

I recommend googling common medical school interview questions to have a general idea of what you might want to say, without memorizing your responses word for word. It is a traditional closed-file interview with one faculty member for 20 minutes, and if you finish early, they allow you to return to any of the earlier questions if you think of something you would like to add, or you can ask the interviewer some of your own questions. You can also ask them to repeat the questions too. Hope this helps!

Their portal is terrible. I constantly keep having issues with it loading. Used chrome, firefox, safari and incognito mode.

not sure about the pharm school but i know COM is pre-accredited since its first class hasn't graduated yet

Anyone know if the 9/9 Casper date is too late for this school. I have everything else submitted but just waiting for them to get my Casper score. Instate 3.17 cgpa 3.01 sgpa 510 mcat

No, since the pharmacy school was accredited through ACPE (Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education) and the medical school is accredited through COCA (Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation).

That Casper date is fine.

Hey I submitted my secondary on 8/6 and I have all the right letters they require but it still says they are under review. Should I email to see if I got lost in the shuffle or wait a bit longer to be file complete?
I'm in the same boat, I submitted on 8/10. Did you end up emailing them?

Congrats to those with IIs and acceptances! For those who were accepted, if possible, can you provide more info on the details? For example, if you have a deadline to submit a deposit, how much the deposit it, etc.

Just had my interview! Super chill, really enjoyed the vibes I got and excited to hear back

Interviewed yesterday, felt good, the Dr. was very nice. Just anxious that my metrics will be the deciding factor now even though I feel like this school is a great fit:/

Im not 100% on this but they mentioned it was a 2k deposit and sounded like it would be a deadline in december

Traffic rules: if you're accepted prior to Nov 15 you have until Dec 15 to pay your deposit.
After Nov 15 you have 30 days
Once it's spring time I think the timeline shortens.

Yes $2k but they did say a portion was refundable without clarifying what that meant

Chances to get into this school with MCAT 499 over 1500 hours of clinical experience and family friends that live in Central Valley?

No way to know. The chances of getting in anywhere with a 499 are pretty slim, but if you have a compelling story and excellent EC's there is always a possibility. I would personally recommend you take a gap and retake the MCAT but I'm just another applicant

Any current CHSU students that can speak about their experience with the school and curriculum thus far? Thanks in advance!

Yes. If you check the portal under ”status”, your LOR should be under review. Once they finish that, you’ll get a complete email. I submitted it 8/20
Oh weird.. never got a complete email but this is what my status shows

For those accepted, is post-interview acceptances usually sent within the week of the interview? Interviewed here Monday and haven't received anything.

I interviewed on Monday 8/24 and received an acceptance call on Friday 8/28, but that's just my own experience. I've seen some people receiving acceptances up to 2 weeks after their interview upstream in this thread!

How long did it take for your Casper scores to show up on your portal. Other schools received mine 3/4 days ago but CHSU is the only one that shows it not received.

is it true that they extend interviews based off of secondary essays only and look at the stats etc after interview?

Anyone who's already interviewed, if you could please confirm if they talked about this

I don’t remember them saying anything about this, just that interviews are closed file

I didn't keep track of when my Casper scores were received for the schools but I got the application complete email 3 days after I submitted my secondaries. It might just take awhile since they have many applications to process.

+1 on the same boat, took Casper 9/9, assuming it’s slower since the weekend hit. Hoping to get a complete by this week!

Yeah I have heard about the pharmacy school.

Does it have any impact on the COM?

I'm also curious if this will affect the reputation of COM. Would not be a good look to graduate from a school that later loses its accreditation.

Think about it.

Does the loss of the next two classes of pharmacy students have an impact on the school as a whole? What effect will this have on a business?

Rumors are pharmacy professors are jumping ship and staffing is going out the window. Good luck on your decision.

Hint: think income (student loans)

yeah for sure. I don’t think this is the biggest “gamble” of going to a brand new DO program tho lol. I think most anyone that matriculates here is obviously prepared for the gamble. Thanks for your concern tho lol

I mean to be honest, they are two different schools run by two different deans and accredited by two different programs. At the end of the day as long as we get a license to practice I'm happy, so unless another school offers me an acceptance, I am trusting that the DO school has their stuff figured out a bit more than the pharmacy school, which if their interview presentation is any example they do.

Congrats on your acceptance! Can't wait to be classmates!
