Hi everyone! I’m so excited that I received an II from case but I ran into some trouble. It says I need to take VITA atleast a week prior to my interview date but I signed up for the 14th and won’t be able to take VITA until I receive the invite tomorrow!
Should I contact admissions?

Only would contact just to be 100% certain but my guess is that it should be fine.

Does anyone know how far out Case is scheduling interviews? Also, October still considered early-ish in the cycle in terms of interviews?

Late November from when I checked I think and October definitely is early still especially w covid

Hi everyone! Does anyone know if CWRU's UP interviews are open or closed file? Can't find this information on the portal, MSAR, or their website. Thanks!
Faculty has open file except MCAT score. Med Student is partially open - they have access to name, undergrad institution, experiences section, & personal statement.

A letter of interest now would definitely hold no weight, right? I interviewed a little while ago, but after comparing to other schools/interviews, Case has become my top choice and I'm worried I didn't articulate well enough at my interview what a great fit it would be for me.

When I checked my secondary portal, I noticed there was a "web interview" tab that wasn't there when I checked before. I have not received an email with an interview invite or any other email besides secondary completed confirmation. Anyone experience this too/has any insight into what the appearance of the tab means?

Edit: I got an interview invite to CCLCM a couple of weeks ago, but the information in the web interview tab mentions CWRU SOM,

I think you should wait until a couple other acceptances before sending an LOI, and express how Case is still your top choice! That way, the LOI has some weight to it.

Yeah, I figured. Hoping they thought the interview was good enough, and hoping for good news for all of us soon!

Omg are you me?? Same situation, also from CA. Hope we get some good news soon 🙂

So n = 1 here but I actually sent a letter of interest (read: not intent just interest) to Case a little before getting accepted in October. Idk if it helped, but it seems it didn't hurt me. I just wrote a little about some new updates I had to my app and then a little about why I thought Case was a good fit for me and why I wanted to go here. I don't think there's any hard rule on when to send letters etc. like the internet may make it seem.

Also - deep breath, I thought I did pretty poorly in my interview but ended up getting in right away. We're always our own harshest critics.

Will students hear back a decision on October 15th? (I interviewed in September)

I had a question about Case's Cycles. I know this might be a general question, but once the commitee goes through my app and proceeds to the next ones (meaning if I havent been rejected yet just to put off the side), is there still a good chance to get a II?
+1 -- I'd really LOVE to hear what @CWRU.Sman has to say, but I would think that depends on how you define "good." If you haven't received a R, your chances are certainly greater than zero, but common sense dictates that your chances aren't as good when you are being compared to the entire pool (on a relook) as when you are only being compared to the people being reviewed at a given point in time (during the first review).

The key here, as you wait, is that you have no way to know whether or not you have been reviewed at all yet.

Can anyone who has interviewed here already comment on their interview day experiences? Was it a fairly enjoyable/laid back interview style or was it more stressful and challenging?

Very relaxed! My interviews were both conversational, and literally all students/ admissions folks were chill af. Really what solidified Case as my top choice 🙂

+2!!! Super friendly admissions staff that really tries to make the virtual interview day run as smoothly as possible.

Admissions staff were great but I feel like I bombed the student interview with one of my answers so that’s a rip. Case/Lerner are my top choice so maybe Lerner can serve as my second chance

???? It's really hard to believe that one answer with one student would tank an application single handedly. SDN is full of stories of people receiving As after feeling like they bombed their interviews. As a group, we tend to be terrible evaluators of our own interview performance. I wouldn't RIP just yet if I were you. 😎

It was my first question :bigtears:but i agree and appreciate it, best of luck if you were in my interview group today!

No, I wasn't there -- I'm a wannabe for next year. I had to bail due to COVID messing with my MCAT and ECs. I'm rooting for you so you can be MY student interviewer next year, and then, remembering this experience, take pity on me!! 😎

For anyone who did the IQ session, is is casual attire? I am traveling and unfortunately do not have any formal attire and do not know if I should reschedule or not. Thank you!

Does anyone know how interviews are evaluated here? Trying not to let those two questions that I think I bombed during my student int bring me down as per @KnightDoc support and advice but the neuroticism is unreal right now

R complete 7/25. thought they would at least keep me hanging the entire cycle cause i have tons of research but it is what it is

oh jeez all those R's 🙁... flashback to Boston.

complete 7/23, waiting

R earlier. Good to know early and good luck to everyone else!

When completion dates both before and after yours get Rs...*laughs nervously to brace for my R :nailbiting:

I have an interview at Lerner but nothing from Case so I’m wondering if they’ll just keep me hanging or... complete 7/22

Does anyone know if Case calls for acceptance news or just over email and portal? Thanks!

We try to review in chronological order but our applicants can get multiple reviews so sometimes it takes time to pass from the queue of one reviewer into another's queue. We are swimming in applications and are trying to get through them as quickly as possible. That said, the AMCAS application + secondary responses + LORs can take a while to read through! Please hang in there with us. So, I guess my point is - try not to read too much into the timing of decisions.

So I went back and read last year's thread. On October 15th last year, there were about twice as many people placed on the alternate list than those who were accepted.
This has me pretty spooked, but I'm hoping we can get good news tomorrow!

But the thread response can't be translated to true numbers? Perhaps those of us who post on SDN are too neurotic to be accepted immediately post-interview
