2020-2021 Indiana

There's no secondary app, really. You either get notified with an interview invite, fill out a short app and pay their fee, or you don't get an interview :/. So no essays to write for this one!
Thanks that’s good to know! Still complete silence for me so I’m a little bummed about that lol

Don't stress about it too much! Took me over 8 weeks to get an email saying my primary app was received and then an interview invite. It's hard to wait, I know, and this cycle is indeed taking forever. I've just been brewing nice cups of tea, staring outside the window like a lonely wife at home, and wondering when will my secondaries come back from the war.

I can’t remember how I completed it last time, but how did you all complete the Dean Evaluation? Did you email a pdf to your undergraduate institution & then printed the form out, signed it, took a picture of it, and then upload it to the portal?

I printed mine out, signed it, scanned that copy, and then emailed it to the appropriate person at my university

Dean's evaluation marked received on 09/1, sent on 08/6.
Whew. That turnaround. I won’t get an interview date until August 2021 🤣

Jk. But that’s a little long of a wait for an update.

Is everyone supposed to get an email confirmation of their primary? I haven't received one of those

I think(?) that they download all primaries but idk what process they use to determine which primaries get downloaded when. You have to have your primary downloaded to be considered for an II. You should receive an email both for primary being downloaded and for an II(if you receive one).

II received on 8/4. All items marked as received/completed since last week. No word on scheduling an actual interview date yet.

Just had my interview. Really nice people, my interviewer made it clear that he was on my side and not trying to trick me. I think you guys will like how yours feels, just make sure you have answers to the general questions like 'why us?' and study up on a few ethical dilemmas.

Was your interview virtual? Thanks!

That's awesome, I'm glad to hear it went well!! Were you an early decision applicant or regular MD?

II 8/11. graduate fee was marked off on the 7th day of the deadline. pre reqs marked 3-5 days later (can't remember). nothing else has been marked since.

for anyone still waiting, looks like they're finally getting around to checking everything off. my LORs and dean eval were marked completed somewhere in the last 3 business days. but still no update about actually scheduling the interview.

Hmmm they gave me an actual date now even though all my supplemental info hasn’t been checked off

Logistically what was the interview day like? Is there more than one interview, do you get to talk with students, etc.?

II received on 8/4, interview was just scheduled today! Non edp so that seems to be in line with what I’ve read here earlier

Just one interview. You get a time/date assigned, and you just have to check in with photo ID (like a license) about a half hour before it starts. You'll get an email with a link for the check-in Zoom meeting. After that, you go to your applicant portal and under a tab that will appear once your interview is scheduled there's a link labelled 'Start Interview' that links you to another Zoom meeting where your interviewer will meet you.

My interview had 2 interviewers: one MD and one 4th year medical student. It was lead predominantly by the MD (I think the student asked a total of 2 follow-up questions to some of my answers). During the day of your interview, they also do a financial aid session and a student panel, both of which are optional (I couldn't attend the student panel as both sessions were scheduled when I had classes). The links to these are in the same email as the link to the check-in, which I received a couple days before the interview date.

what days were you all scheduled for?

Mine was early in the morning yesterday, which I confirmed was the first date they scheduled interviews this cycle. Their website mentions they only schedule dates on Wednesdays, for reference.

This might be a stupid question, but for the question in the graduate application that asked "Did you include your AMCAS ID on the Graduate School application?" I answered no because I thought the next amcas ID question would go away if I clicked yes. Does this make any difference? I might be overthinking this because I still typed in my amcas ID in the next question, but the question was confusing so I just wanted to make sure.

Aren’t the interviews virtual? How are y’all seeing each other lol

Application was downloaded by admissions!
Submitted on 07/10 so I was waiting with bated breath.

ORM, OOS

Just got the R
They downloaded my app on the 13th of August and I was verified before transmission. OOS ORM LM 67. No ties to Indiana or Midwest

best of luck to the rest of y’all!

R. First one of the cycle, but can’t complain, as I’ve been fortunately having a pretty good cycle so far.

LM ~ 73, OOS, ORM, FWIW

Best of luck to everyone!

Also got the R

So long and thanks for all the fish!

OOS but still midwest

Good luck to everyone still in the running 🙂

For anyone who had an interview date scheduled, what was the time frame between having everything checked off in the application portal and getting notified about a date? I just got the last thing checked off today

Leave it blank. It actually mentions achievements in the list of things not to include, I think.

On another note, I was just scheduled for my interview on the 2nd. Dean's eval got marked completed, but there was a problem with my letters of rec??? Apparently if the personal letter writer has ever assigned you a grade they don't accept the letter. Who knew.

My personal is my lab PI but I got credit for my lab as an internship and thus received a grade - does that mean I can’t use this letter of recommendation for a personal?

This is what I received from them:

"As we reviewed the Letters of Recommendation, we found that the Personal requirement was not fulfilled. As a reminder, the Personal letter must be written by someone who has never taught you in a class or given you a grade. Please release a new letter to us that fulfills this requirement as soon as possible."

My deans office only sent the evaluation via email does anyone know if it has to be physically mailed? It’s been over a week and it is still marked as not received.

Are they only scheduling once everything is received?

I had my interview already scheduled, but it still marks my Dean's evaluation and letters as not received.

Is there anything else marked as not received for you? For some reason my LOR and pre reqs are still marked as not received. Congrats on getting a date!

My letters of rec and Dean's evaluation. Everything else is marked complete.

+1 in the same boat, interview invite was sent on August 10

Interview date assigned in October. Here is my timeline:
Notification they received my app: 8/7
Interview invite/supplemental: 8/12
All supplemental docs submitted: 8/15
All supplemental docs marked as submitted: 9/4
Interview date assigned: 9/9 for mid-October date

OOS, no ties, ORM

Moral of the story was a fat dose of patience

How long did it take between you sending in the primary to them notifying you that they received it? It’s been three weeks for me already and nothing 🙁
