Hello! I am an International student too AND this was my first interview as well AND I just got an acceptance. SO PLEASE BE HOPEFUL! Even before I did the interview, I heard from many current students who said this was a very relaxing fun/interview, they really try to help you succeed and relax in the interview. So I would say just be your best self, don't let your nerves get to you, and practice common interview questions.

You will be fine just dressing as you would in an in person interview, yes there is time for lunch (you should be able to see this from the agenda they will send you). If you have not yet, i would also recommend going on F-1 DOCTORS to speak to the current SKMC students there who are also intl students.

Good luck!!!!
Wow! Now I am more excited about my interview. Thank you so much!!

Does anyone know if they accept additional letters of recommendation after you're complete?

To those who have sent update letters, did you directly email Dr. Callahan or the admissions office?

Hey everyone! For all the neurotic pre-meds out there I wanted to share that I interviewed on 12/2 and was put on the HPWL on 12/9. I'm feeling very optimistic about it and was not completely surprised by the WL because as an Illinois resident I am sure they are skeptical that I would move to Philly (which I 100% want to because Jefferson is my top choice!!!). I sent them a LOI today so I will keep you all updated. And for all you people out there with As who know they aren't going to attend can you please decline it so I can get in 😉

Is it a bad sign if dr. Callahan doesn’t reply to your update email? *brb over analyzing*

This happened to me so about 2-3 weeks later I sent one to admissions and CC’ed her instead and then it was added to my app. However, I haven’t received an II.

If the school is taking time off between 12/16-first week of Jan as noted in the comment above, would it be a better idea to wait on sending update/letter of interest until January?

I did this exact thing! Then she replied saying she receives so many updates every day that she’s behind on responding to them. I haven’t received an II, either.

For people who have already interviewed, did you attend the "pre-interview" optional information session the day before your interview? I don't have any questions for them so I was thinking about not going but I'm overthinking it now lol.

Nope, I never attended any of the optional events and still got in.

Also wondering this. Any thoughts?

Those that have interviewed, what was the decision turn around time?

@AB0915 From previous comments, I’ve seen anywhere between 1 week to 6 weeks, which really depends on when your interviewers can make it to the meeting to present your app. My interview was yesterday and Dr. Callahan said that they’ll be taking winter break for 2 weeks. So I guess if you have not heard back, the winter break will add another 2 weeks to your waiting time

Looks like we interviewed together! Best of luck!

Current SKMC MS3 here. Jefferson has been great to me and it’s a phenomenal program. Open to any questions you may have.

Good luck!

What's your opinion of how the school has been handling vaccination of students? Do you know if clinical students (M3s/M4s) have been given vaccination priority? What about M1s and M2s? Thank you!

My understanding is they are prioritizing ER and ICU staff, as they should.

I have not personally received nor been instructed to receive a vaccine as of yet but I presume it will be soon.

As the M1/M2 students are virtual only they may be lower down on the priority list, but that is just an assumption as we are not privy to the university’s plan.

Thanks for the reply! I agree ER/ICU staff should be prioritized first. I just know some schools have M3s/M4s as next in line after frontline workers to receive the vaccine and was wondering how Jeff was handling it. Thank you again.
