I may be wrong, but movements off waitlist will not happen until after all the regular acceptances are sent and probably not until Mar / Apr - when people start really withdrawing etc.Has anyone been accepted off the alternate list yet? Has anyone on the alternate list chosen this school as their one school to send a letter of intent to?
I think alternate list action will be in late springHas anyone been accepted off the alternate list yet? Has anyone on the alternate list chosen this school as their one school to send a letter of intent to?

For some schools this is true but not all- Miami is an alternate list so it is a little different. Alternates get looked at and accepted throughout the cycle per what they told us interview day. They accept between 15-20 people every decision day by adding new interviewees to the ranked alternate list and then choose the top 15-20 to send acceptances to. A big movement typically does still happen later in the cycle both in February and at the end of April as people narrow down to 3 and 1 schools respectively on AAMC’s CYMS tool, but according to Dr. Gervais people are pulled from the alternate list throughout the cycle.
I just got the email 30 min ago (about 5:30pm Pacific)Accepted by call!!!! Anyone know when we're supposed to expect the email?
No I definitely rewrote it and summarized (since my descriptions in my AMCAS app were more anecdotal)Also another thing I wanted to ask, for the section that asked "describe your clinical experiences," did anyone else just copy and paste what they wrote from them on their AMCAS?
when do admitted students think we will start hearing about potential merit aid?
+1 also wondering about thisDoes anyone know if Miami accepts update letters? Can't find this information on their site. Thank you!
Perfect!I think this thread would be 90% shorter if there was just a banner before posting that read:
- Yes, they accept updates by email ([email protected])
- You may or may not eventually be "scored" (portal text change, no email notification), yes we know its stressful, no one really knows how it all works for sure, try not to dwell too much on it
- Please take care of yourselves and your sanity <3
Thank you for that information. I didn't know I could do a search in this thread.Perfect!
And also,"How to search a thread":
1. Click the little magnifying glass in the top right corner of this page
2. Click the little triangles next to the word "Everywhere" and select "this thread"
3. Enter the word 'updates' and click "Search".
4. Profit
it is amusing how many times "do they accept updates?" has been asked in this thread alone
I think I've been scored for a lot more than just a few weeks.Been scored for a few weeks now with no II - anyone else in a similar boat?
+1 like august 10th or something lollllI think I've been scored for a lot more than just a few weeks.
Nothing seems even logical. Forget about chronological!!Do they score chronologically or based on preliminary score?
complete 8/8 and same lolcomplete 9/4 and haven't been scored :/
Did you send it to the general admissions email or Dr. Weisman?I called them today because I still haven't received my official letter. They told me responding via email reserves my spot, and then I can respond to the letter (as a formality) once it arrives.
I just emailed today for my 11/05 acceptance because I interpreted the email as needing to respond to the letter (not the email). Really hoping it's okay that I responded 11 days after my acceptance...
So for all those admitted in the future, respond via email to hold your spot.
If you have an update, send it. If you are just making an update up, sit tight.Feels like I've been scored for ages and still no II.. should I send an update, or just sit tight?
To which email should we send an update, if we have a significant one?If you have an update, send it. If you are just making an update up, sit tight.
Search this thread pleaseTo which email should we send an update, if we have a significant one?
For context, LM 74, OOS, solid clinical research experience with underservedSubmitted secondary 9/28 and yet to be scored. Any point in holding out hope?
Based on what others have reported on the thread, your application status will update to say whether or not your app has been scored. I’m guessing higher scores get interviews firstSorry but what does scoring mean?
Congrats! When were you complete?II!, LM 75
I don't think Miami accepts any application updates. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
congrats to those that got II !! what dates are they scheduling for?
I scheduled for early December and I submitted my secondary in early August.Congrats! When were you complete?
Do you know if we’re supposed to call/email to confirm our spot before we get the acceptance stuff in the mail?FYI anyone waiting for the acceptance letter in the mail after the call/email- they are only going out once a month!
Big yeshas anyone been "under review" for months? complete early august, not scored yet
Same! 🙁Submitted secondary 8/3, marked complete around 8/20, still not scored and definitely losing any remaining hope, lol.
