Has anyone heard any update on when we should start hearing about merit scholarships or financial aid? Current MS's have any insight?
It varied from person to person. I received mine March; others got it a lot earlier and others had to wait after the CTE deadlines.

does anybody know if the admissions office accepts additional LORs? (I emailed them about it and haven't received a response)

Has anyone heard anything back since receiving an acceptance letter in the mail and replying to your acceptance email? I've sent multiple emails but no confirmation or anything about portal setups, scholarships, ect. Trying to be as least neurotic as possible but I won't believe it til it happens lol

They have replied to me and said we can expect to hear back in March

I got a call and literally nothing else. When I reached out to admissions about whether I was supposed to receive further communication they responde "Congratulations on your acceptace, your place has been confirmed." Their admissions office seems very disorganized

There is apparently an official accepted students fb group in the making, so ig we should be expecting an email for that soon-ish.

I just got an II on Monday 2/1! There's definitely still hope. They had scheduling options for every Friday in February and March.
There wasnt any for available for April?? On their website it reads: "Interviews are conducted only at the request of the Office of Admissions and are generally held on selected Mondays and Fridays between the middle of September and the end of April. "

Congrats btw!!!

I'm sure this still holds true. A lot of schools only let you see the next few available dates--I thought it was impressive that Miller had the next 8 dates displayed lol. And ty, I'm super stoked! Anyone know if Miller's post-II A rate is as good as it looks?

I believe in past years it’s been about half. Don’t quote me on that tho lol

Here here, I am honestly starting to feel like I'm just going to get a pre-II R without them even looking at my application.
Isn’t it true that there are people that do get their apps looked at and just don’t get scored? That was my understanding at least, but I could very well be wrong. Regardless, their process is very confusing.

Yup, youre right and I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread as well as previous year threads.

My app still doesn’t have my letter of refs marked as received from AMCAS and they haven’t responded to my email...how many weeks did it take for yours to update?

I submitted 8/7 and they weren’t marked complete until like November 💀

Then what's the point of even applying??? Seriously, this just means they could very well not look at your application and just take your money.

It's so frustrating that this is one of the few med schools close to where I have family living.

On another note, I have been trying to send in a letter of interest to their email address, and no one is responding. What does it take for this school to actually look at their email? Is there anything I can do?

I think it took maybe 1-2 weeks, i don't remember the exact timeline cuz its been a hot minute since all of that, but it varies significantly for people- some it took less than a week, not sure about the longest time its taken someone. I do know UM has a weakness in their communications department and isn't too great at responding to people so your best bet might be to just forget about it and someday you might hear good news as long as you tried and already sent them an email notifying them of your inquiry.

If you search back in this thread, they often do not reply to updates- I think they had said they had more applicants this year than ever before- I want to say upwards of 8,000+. You can call and they will confirm that it has/has not been added to your application. People also email directly to the Dean of Admissions, but this is typically post-interview. I know that when I sent in an update letter about a week before my interview, they did receive it and my interviewers had it on hand during the interview day. Be sure to include all the pertinent info they would need to match your letters up with your application- most importantly your AMCAS id# in the subject line and in the body of email/ letter as well as your interview date (if applicable). Hope this helps, don’t be afraid to call and confirm!

I’m an MS2 if anyone’s having issues with rec letters not being complete PM me!

What is the dean of admissions email? Should I email him about missing letter of Rec emails or just wait?

Hey y’all I know it’s easy to get frustrated when schools don’t notice us, keep in mind many of us who have interviewed or have been accepted this year had applied last year and never got any interview invites. Keep your heads up and the goal in mind- it is a really competitive process. For me personally last application cycle was a huge bummer, but I looked inward at myself to see what I could improve and it worked this year! Don’t give up hope, keep forging ahead!

Missing rec letters is probably more of an admissions department topic, I’m not sure about going to the dean. There’s an MS2 who responded on here offering to help (user name @Detailsmatter - has been a great source of info/ help for this cycle!!), I suggest that as a good start! Keep in mind rec letters have to be uploaded though AMCAS, I’m only mentioning this because you referenced “letter of rec emails”. I’m not sure if letters of rec are accepted over email, if that is in fact how they are being sent by your writers.

If you're interviewing both MD and MD-MPH, is it still two interviews on one day?

Received an II this morning. Interview dates go out until March just FYI for folks who are still waiting. I withdrew my app from here months ago so was very surprised to receive the II lol.
Thanks for the hope! 🙂 I'm getting the feeling that their admissions office is a little chaotic... And congrats on those As!!!

Congrats! When were you scored and what are your stats? IS or OOS?

Do any current students have any inkling in if MD/MPH kids will have in person classes this summer or what miami is planning on doing for fall yet?
At my interview they said they are contemplating having an in-person Second Look (April) so I think it will depend on things like vaccination rates, the new variant, and positivity rates!

Do they still review ur app even if the letters are not marked as received?

I never heard back after emailing the dean nor the office of admissions...not sure if there’s anything I can do at this point lol but muggy since I submitted a whole secondary w fee and this was not an error on my behalf
