2020-2021 Morehouse

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I had to email them in order to confirm, but I got a quick reply! Also, I’m pretty certain it was completely open file because they asked about my MCAT score. The interview day was great and everything ran smoothly. Some situational questions, some regular interview questions. I had two individual interviews.
ok great i will just email them! and thank you! im pretty nervous b/c this is in my top 3. I've had 2 other interviews already but neither of those were this high up on my list.

Best of luck to you! It will all work out in the end!

Hey does anyone know the minimum MCAT required for Morehouse this cycle? I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone know more in depth about the way the classes are given? This may be more for a current student but would love to get any info y’all know!
do they record lectures? What is avail pre-lecture? Do you get slides, or other recordings? Do we buy textbooks, or are they easily checked out in the library or available in PDF format?

i dont think they really say but on the MSAR the lowest accepted was 501 so that’s kinda what I guess it’s around.

The avg MCAT is 503 for morehouse so I’m sure they accept +/- at least 6 points. For an MCAT avg on the lower end, they definitely accept scores in the 490s.

Thanks! I believe it was the end of October. I ended up signing up for a date in mid November instead, though.
Ahh good I was worried bc one of my other interviews at my state school is in March

omg i wish they sent me an update... I haven’t heard anything since submitting August 14th 🙁

do y’all think i should send a letter of interest?

I was rejected the first year I interviewed at Morehouse. They sent the rejection email about 2 weeks after the interview date
Ow wow. Sorry for that. Why do you think you were rejected post II? That’s my fear. I interviewed on the 9th and I have jitters because I feel like it went okay, but you never know.

I really have no idea why I got rejected, I was just happy they did it right away instead of waiting till the end of the cycle. But I did receive an acceptance during the next cycle (last year). I am now a first year student here and it was definitely worth reapplying!

Do you mind commenting on the curriculum and how well you like the school so far? Also I heard that they have a “mandatory laptop” I wanted to know more about this! Thank you 🙂

Most of our classes are online via Zoom due to CoVID. We are taught based on organ systems. We come to campus about once a week with our small groups for anatomy lab and clinical skills, but we to get tested regularly to be allowed on campus. I love the school so far! My classmates are amazing and very supportive. We regularly plan events together (with proper social distancing) and help each other with the stress of Zoom school. Part of the tuition covers the school laptop that has programs needed for school installed. You can use a personal computer if you want for everything except examinations. You have to use the school computer for all tests.

Yes they record lectures. Pre-lecture we have the PPs, and some PDFs available. Some professors have small videos/clips they like us to watch before class, but this isn't often.
I bought some of the textbooks, but that is because I personally like having a physical copy. Almost everything is available in PDF form or using the library database online.

I do not live at entra. I was already living in the metro Atlanta area, so I stayed at my current place. Most students who don't live there go regularly because they do have nice study areas.

Yes I absolutely love it here. I had 5 total acceptances, Morehouse was the last one I received about 1 week before classes. I was already planning on moving to another state and about to sign a lease. Everyday I am so thankful I get to go to Morehouse. I honestly don't think any other school has what Morehouse does. My classmates are sooooo supportive and amazing. Our professors genuinely care about us. I'm sure this all sounds kinda fake, but I really mean it. Morehouse is amazing!

Hey guys, this is a question for those that have gotten an interview so far. I received an interview here about a month ago, and I believe I scheduled for next week. However, I just received an email today about the "Interview Day Overview". This really scared me, because now I'm starting to overthink that I'm scheduled for tomorrow. I can't find any confirmation email or anything in the portal that confirms my exact interview date. Did you all get this email a week prior or the day before??? Thanks!!!! Any reply would save a life here🙂

Hello! I got my Overview email about a week before my interview date if that helps!!

Just got a status update saying they are still reviewing my application like...okay? Scared me to death for no reason lol
Me too! I was like ok...
Should I be happy they are taking their time discussing me or are they just telling me I'm still in line, hang in there

Are lectures pre-recorded or at least made available for replay after the lecture is given?

Some professors upload pre-recorded lectures, but all professors still teach during their class time. All classes are recorded and uploaded after. We also have access to previous years' lecture recordings. Some classes are taught by different professors over the years and some students like a different professor's teaching style.
