Anyone know what we do about pre reqs that weren’t completed yet and aren’t on AMCAS?
 
I'm working on this secondary now (I know, I'm behind the game 🙁).
  • Just to confirm, you guys were able to submit "why downstate" essays longer than 150 words?
  • When it asks if I've had a break from work/school full time, I'm working part time during my gap year. But I describe this activity in the prompt before it. Should I ignore it since they want to know if i'm doing nothing or fill it out and reference the earlier prompt? The same person sees my whole secondary at once?
 
for my peeps who still have not received a complete email from downstate and LOR and Mcat missing on portal I emailed them and they gave a very generic response saying "MCAT and letters will be marked complete after it is verified by our screeners after submitting your supplemental application." So I guess we just gotta be patient

Yea still no complete email from downstate. Def one of my top choices so not exactly the best feeling with August coming up

I really wouldnt be too concerned unless your stats are low enough to get you screened out. Are they?
 
How strict do you think they are on only having two letters of rec? I’m a non trad who did TFA and a career-changer postbac. I would ideally submit three letters: one science postbac, one TFA supervisor, and one postbac premed committee letter.

I sent in three and they're all marked as received
 
Anyone else still waiting on that complete email? Submitted 7/22. Says my LOR not received but when I click on link, it shows that my letter is there and was received 7/2. Also says they don't have my MCAT? Anyone else experiencing this? I want to email them but the portal explicitly says not to if MCAT and LOR still says missing as they will "update it as they review/process".

You don't need to do that. If you use the link that was in the e-mail, it links to the "Reset password", you can just click "back" instead of resetting the password, and that will be the regular sign-in homepage.

Submitted almost three weeks ago and I still have an X next to my MCAT and LORs. I think just give it more time.
 
maybe they only check them off after someone's done a preliminary review of the app?
 
Has anyone been marked as complete recently? Submitted 7/14 and haven't gotten the complete email yet.
 
Just to add, I submitted on 7/16 and the portal still says it's missing my mcat and LORs 🙁
 
I forgot to update earlier, but last friday (8/7), I received an email that my application was marked complete!

damn, i submitted the same day as you but still havent heard anything. Not sure if I should be worried haha; this school is defnitely a top choice for me :/
 
Can someone give insight on how to approach the two similar questions asking about what activities you would be doing? To me, they both sound like gap year questions. How's everyone else going about this?
1. Are there any periods longer than 3 months, from the time you graduated from high school to now, when you were not employed full time or in college full-time?
2.Will you be attending college full time as of September 15?Please describe your activities for the period of September 15 to July 1.

The first one I think is asking for gaps in education kinda and immediate gap year plans so I guess the time u graduated until September? I personally left it blank and just spoke of my gap year plans in the next question
 
When does downstate usually start sending out interviews invites?
