2020-2021 Toledo

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Mentally preparing for this week. I have a feeling I might be hearing back this week. So manifest an acceptance for me. Dear lord I don't want to retake my mcat. Have mercy on this humble soul.🙂
In the same boat as you (and also slightly dreading the prospect of hearing back)...really don't want to re-apply lol. Hoping really hard for acceptances for both of us!!!

Has anyone that interviewed on March 12 heard back yet?
I interviewed 3/12 and haven't heard anything. Kinda expecting/hoping for later this week! My impression is they've been pretty good about a 3 week turn around give or take some.

IF we took the MCAT in August 2018, can we still reapply again next cycle or do we have to retake? Are there any MD schools that will accept MCATs from that long ago?

I feel like most of schools accepts the score from past 3 years. So reapplying this cycle should be fine. Also, this is mostly school dependent (as some accept going back to 5 years). Do check the school website before applying.

August 18 is actually the oldest they are using for this current next cycle. It would be super duper expired at this school next cycle. There are some schools that do take an MCAT that old, someone put together a list on reddit just a few days ago

Toledo changed their guidelines this cycle because of covid. I took my MCAT in April 2018 and they considered it valid. Not sure what they’ll decide on for this coming cycle.

Edit: currently, their website says they’re accepting MCAT scores taken within 3 years from the time of application. I assume that means that if one were to apply by June/July 2021, an August 2018 MCAT would be just barely valid.

Asking for a paranoid friend, do you guys know if Utoledo is interviewing into May? Or sending ll's in April?

Does Toledo publish data on how many students had to SOAP?
UT student here. Historically no, but I believe a handful (~5-10) didn't match or decided to do something else career-wise, given that the entering class size is 175 and every year the number of matched students is in the high 160s

Would anyone who's interviewed be willing to tell me how the interview process works? Is it like, a list of Zoom links that you have to click on in the correct order, or do they have someone just popping you into breakout rooms? And I saw you can make notes, correct?

Freaking out over here, lol. I really want to get in here and I'm terrified I'm gonna screw it up.

Interviewed yesterday. You'll see a list of stations after signing the NDA digitally. You only have to click start interview once and the system will automatically transition you between stations. Tiffany will explain the process in great detail during the presentation.

Awesome, thanks!

Rooting for you! And yes you can take notes. Make sure to keep an eye on your email because one of my interviewers couldn’t make it and I didn’t know until I noticed they were 5 minutes late and decided to check my email!

Thanks!!!

And, got it, will keep an eye out. Hoping everything goes smoothly...

Good luck with your interview--you'll do great!! I wouldn't worry about the format as Tiffany goes into great detail as to how it will look. I believe they will also be hanging out in the main zoom room for the duration of the MMI so you can pop back in if you need any help

I'd say most of the stations were pretty laid back--none of the "stress interview" stuff you get at some other schools. It's very conversational tho so do expect some follow up questions as some stations 🙂

So your interview first start with a zoom link. During the first half they talk to you about the program. They go through what the program has to offer etc. you can ask questions and take notes. Then they spend a good portion telling you about how the MMI will work. So the first zoom link meeting will be still up during the entire time. This is because if the MMI starts and you have technical problem you can come here and check out. There was a little break from the general information time to when the MMI starts.
For the actual MMI part you will be logged in to the Toledo portal where you submitted secondaries and updates. When it is your day you will notice under the interview day tab there will be multiple stations with different time stamps. For example mine was like 4:00 then 4:15 then 4:30. You start at 4:00 click on it then the prompt shows up you can brain storm then you do the actual MMI here you answer the prompt. I feel like you had 8 minutes total to read the prompt, answer it and to have follow up questions. There is a small break between each stations. You don’t have to talk the entire time because they will have follow up questions. So the way they have it set it up it was to actually load one after the other. It didn’t work for me like that I had to actually click on the next interview thing.

honestly, the interview was pretty laid back. I feel like you will really do well because you really like the program. But good luck to you !!!!!!

Would anybunny who's interviewed be willing to tell me how the Easter egg hunt process works? Is it like, a list of Zoom links that you have to click on in the correct order, or do they have someone just popping you into breakout rooms? And I saw you can make notes, correct?

Mostly a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Really pay attention to time though and don’t feel like you have to talk for the whole time. They generally want to ask you at least 2 questions.mmi stations cut off promptly when time is up so keep an eye just in case your interviewer does not so you don’t get cutoff mid sentence. Good luck and be yourself

Is it normal for it to take a few days for Toledo to show up on CYMS tool? Got the A on Monday and still don't see anything...but if its normal I'll just keep waiting 🙂

Any person from late February/early March “i”nterview”s yet to hear back? Figured it’d be worth calling if it’s been past five weeks.

I'm right there with you. Every time I get an email I have a mini heart attack just to see that it's spam or from my college (sometimes both) and not the results of my easter egg hunt.

It has to be coming soon right?

Edit: unsure why c'ollege switched to bunny training but I'm here for it

I just got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • Interviewed Feb 26
  • Stats 3.91 science treats! + cumulative , 502 flowers, Instate. ORM but had the disadvantaged essay
  • Easter egg hunt was all right.
  • Did write a message in a bottle of intent was two pages and was incredibly specific to the program
Congratulations!!!!!!! I hope more will follow.

You seem knowledgeable about the school; what do you like so much about Toledo's program? Others please chip in too.

Bunny training is tough but respectable work, I’m sure you’ll make a great Easter Bunny who gives the best chocolate!

Well did you finish that last heist for Dutch yet?
You know, I had a horrible dream that I died on a random mountain in the Grizzlies, but then Strauss woke me up to tell me to go collect a sick rancher’s debt. Seeing the fire of my eyes, I decided to abandon that way of life and become a physician who could someday go to Tahiti with all of my boahs. How’s Corvo Bianco?

Got lost on the way, Roach got stuck on a roof again. Decided maybe I'll get there later
