Does anyone know if they go through applications in the order they were received? Doesn't seem like it. I was complete 9/4 and haven't heard anything.

Seems to be a factor, not the be-all and end-all.

In the email we received from admissions after submitting our applications it clearly said they do not accept updates.

woah I JUST got a UC Davis secondary today. I submitted my primary mid-July, and I am in-state (Southern California). I'm very glad to receive a secondary, but it's so late in the cycle, would it be a $120 donation?

Send it in cause you never know. You don't wanna end up regretting it.

If you pass the automated screen, you will receive a secondary instantly (or within a couple days). If you do not pass the automatic screen, then your application will be reviewed by a human (or multiple) who will then decide to give a secondary or not.

Getting one so late means someone read your application and sent you a secondary so I'd go for it! Someone out there liked you and wanted to see more.

I was invited to interview last year on 10/3 and was waitlisted until the very last day, but it's been radio silence since my secondary which I submitted ages ago..... I'm beginning to lose hope 🙁 Any advice?

It's unfortunate that the system doesn't allow us to reschedule when earlier dates open up. Seems odd that they don't allow that.

I would definitely submit. If you got a secondary, it means someone read your primary app and thought you’d be a good fit. By not doing it, you’re just missing a potential opportunity.
