From what I understand, last year, some people heard back in sept/october, but since they just sent out secondaries, I would push things out to until perhaps November for the higher stat applicants. But from current students we should hear back for II around Jan/Feb for lower-mid tier applicants!

This was what they sent me (below). Hope this helps.

"Please enter all of the credits that you have completed (without labs) in the course inventory. If you do not have enough credits, please enter the number of credits for which you are requesting a waiver for. The admissions committee will review this and make a decision based on the information that you've provided. For Example: If you have completed 6 Biology credits, please request a waiver for the 2 missing credits, along with a brief comment highlighting your request. If your undergraduate curriculum called for only 6 credits, please state this and how this has prepared you for the program."

I don't want to give you hope but there's no way that you will not be receiving a secondary. You are from IE and submitted your app very early too. I'm very sure the school will send out secondaries to people soon. It has been weird with their system.

I would think November since UCR's cycle has been pushed due to covid and their new upgraded system. I had some friends that were accepted by the end of November so that was an estimate. Though I'm not sure what they consider higher priority/tiered students and how they weigh it if its purely gpa/MCAT or ec/gpa/mcat. But hopefully that helps, however please take my words with a grain of salt!

In the same boat for the labs. I already submitted my secondary to stay within the one week deadline. Not sure if I did the waiver right.

IS / URM / from OC verified in august.. still waiting for a secondary.. do yall think I should call or write an email?
 
Did you guys answer the optional question? Thinking about using it as a space to talk about what I have done during COVID (as it relates to serving the underserved communities in California)?

Has anyone received an interview invitation from UCR SOM yet?

If so, how long did it take from the submission of your secondary to the day you got the invitation?
 
Do they normally send II for the haider program first?

When I first signed on, I could not see a single date from today until March. I kept refreshing the page though and eventually I found a single slot in the early weeks of November, but I did not see any other dates so I am not sure.

I am not sure, I think it is just based on residence and Haider students are typically closer.
 
Do you know if they send interviews in order based on complete date? I was complete on 9/22 and applied to Haider but never got anything back.

I would not get discouraged, it sounds like your II is probably on the way. Especially since you got your secondary so early (I got mine on 9/31).
 
Just an update for those who haven't received a secondary yet (I'm right there with you): I emailed admissions and they said they have received my application and all qualified applicants will be given a secondary but they're still working on sending them out because of their delays so the wait is expected.
Now the whole "qualified applicants" essentially may mean that there MAY be some sort of screen possibly state residence related but if there is, they would disclose it on their admissions site. They also said in that email that my application would be given a full review after I submit my secondary BY DECEMBER 18TH. The sooner you submit it, the better though. The prompts are up, start writing if you haven't, and be ready to send that secondary asap once you get it. Hang in there folks, I'm waiting too!

Did anyone use the Document Upload section? I am thinking about uploading an updated transcript but am not sure if that would be appropriate and could not find any information about it on the website.

Are they screening for secondaries?
 
The secondary invitation email contained "Based on an initial review of your AMCAS application, we believe that you may be a good fit to our program and hope to get to know you better. "

I'd assume they screen

Yeah but based on the technical issue they had this time around, I wonder if they had to do some kind of screening to get their work load lower.

Otherwise why wouldn't everyone have gotten the secondary invite in mass?

I just got my Secondary today so I think there must be some level of screening.

then how would it explain that statement? in the email it says "upon review of initial app" but secondary page says "sent to all" confused
 
Has anyone heard anything about the MMI interview at UCR? Low stress? Pretty straightforward? Just a normal MMI? 🙂
