2021-2022 Pittsburgh

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
WL congrats to everyone that got the A, this school is so good!!

WL on the portal, OOS. My faculty interviewer said they'd beg the admissions team to take me but I knew not to trust anything lol

Alright someone check my math here for last year:

913 Interviews
299 Accepted (including those that were on waitlist)
65 People got off the waitlist
Meaning 299-65 = 234 received immediate acceptance

913-234 = 679 interviewees were WL or R, but let’s just say majority were WL

so 65 / 679 = a rough 10% WL movement?

idk how to feel about this but wow i'm surprised that a lot of us are all in the WL boat...? is this a good or bad thing or just it happened to be

Waitlist is going to be the vast majority of post-II decisions for many schools. Sending in those Letters of Intent or Interest (if it's true for you) is all we can do now.

does anyone know what percentage of applicants get into the PSTP/how many students will be in the next cohort?

do ppl know if there's some preferred time that they like letters of intent? i sent an update kind of recently so i'm not sure if sending an LOI like next wk or something will be viewed negatively

Anyone have an idea of when typical WL movement occurs for Pitt?
Went through and read their bylaws. Apparently the waitlist is organized into a "tier one" and "tier two." Tier one considered first, then tier two. I don't know if we'll know that when they email, but I doubt it. Also, according to link above and MSAR, 65 people off waitlist per year. Based on the overwhelming amount of WL on here as well, who really knows?
