2021-2022 Temple

Also getting that error message! Trying to submit (today is my 2 week cut off AH!) and it wont let me save any of my responses. Hopefully it's back up and running soon.

Took my CASPer exam back at the end of June and didn't know that Temple also required the DUET portion of the Altus suite. They recommend that it's taken within 10 days after the CASPer, and I just got around to taking it yesterday. Does anyone think this will negatively affect my application? Secondaries are starting to pile up price-wise and don't want to waste the money if this will be used to screen me out.

+1 to the technical errors, can't even get in my secondary application!

I guess Miami and Temple BOTH want me to wait to submit my secondary lol

Would mentioning a professional connection (good working and personal relationship with trauma fellow at Penn) be something that would be appropriate to put in the "why philly?" campus essay?

I think it would depend how you word it. You don't want to make it sound like you're responding to a "why Penn?" question, ya know? Maybe if you have been in the city to work with this fellow you could mention that

I had issues with the error message too but I just tried to get to the application a few times and it worked again. I found I had to click through the different application parts to enter my essays and then submit. Took a few tries but it worked!

Except annoyingly in my essays, the spaces in between paragraphs got removed so they look like one massive thing. I had under the character limit so I am not sure why this happened.

Just so I’m on the same page as everyone else, on the secondary application, I indicated that I might be interested in the MPH program and my “Why Temple?” focused on the new Narrative medicine. Do I need to need to fill out another application for MPH and Narrative medicine program at this time or am I good?

Hi there! I spoke to an Altus representative today who said that my Duet would be sent automatically to Temple within 24 hours of taking Duet. There is no need to pay more money or do anything aside from taking it. Since you took Duet already you could try to reach out to admissions to confirm they have received the score

Is anyone still getting the error message? I have not been able to submit my essays for a week now!! I emailed the admissions office and they gave me some steps of clearing my cache and whatnot, but it still wont work?

Any tips? Help? Thank you!

If you scroll up, I posted the link that I use and it works just fine.

1- If I am interested in the St Luke's campus - do I address the Why Temple question about Temple as a whole or specific to the St Luke Campus? They the same curriculum but with very different features.
2 - If I select St Lukes campus does that disqualify acceptance for the main campus? St Lukes only takes about 35-40 students per year.
3- Is the Ad Com different for St Lukes or do all apps go into the same pile for review?

Can't find it at the moment, but previous poster from this thread or last year's mentioned that it is either or between St. Lukes and Temple main campus.

I was more interested in the small class size at St Lukes, so I responded to that question about my specific reasons for wanting to attend the St Lukes campus, not for Temple as a whole.

Stupid question, but is anyone else having trouble finding the status of their application? I didn't get a completion email from LKSOM, but all of the boxes are checked.
I never got a confirmation email. Based on earlier responses in this thread it looks like no one else got one either.

Anyone having issues with their app being incomplete because of Casper/Duet? Altus says my scores were delivered a few weeks ago but they haven't been marked as received on the application checklist. I contacted the school and they keep responding with the same (automated?) email that says "it may take up to three weeks after your test date for the scores to reach LKSOM. If your request to release the scores to Temple are after the scores are available, it can take up to 7 days for them to get matched to your application." It's been well over three weeks and I added Temple to the distribution list before I even took Casper, so I don't know what the issue is here. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have the same issue. My casper/duet are both complete but according to Temple, they have still not received my scores yet in the "4. Submit Supplemental Items" section. Wondering if this is the same for everyone else?

This happened to me for another school. When I reached out to Casper, they said that schools need to manually download your scores so it could take a while depending on the school

Yes, It's either one or the other. You will not be considered for both once you've made your choice. Technically, stats are better for Temple main in terms of acceptance but, if St. Lukes is more your wavelength, it'll show and you should apply there

Is there a GPA/MCAT cut off for temple? I was verified early July and haven't gotten my secondary invite. OOS btw.

EDIT: idk how this got lost in my email but it did. Received 7/23. OOS. I'm annoyed with myself because I rly wanted to turn this one in early.

Since they don't give a deadline for the secondaries, did you guys just turn it in between 2-3 weeks to be safe? Also, do any of you know if they screen for secondaries or is it a holistic review and then invited to submit secondary?

Wondering the same
I didn't get my II until late August or early September and I think I was in the first wave or interview so, I'd say within the next 2 weeks the first wave will be going out

anyone get an interview yet?
The Temple web page is pretty helpful on information on interviews, also you should note there are only a few specific times that admission offers are released: November, February, or at the end of interview season.

Does anyone know what "Cl Campus Filler Field" means?

It's in the secondary listed under the "Clinical Campuses Section." There is a drop-down and you can pick "YES, No, or No Response."

I can’t decide whether to apply for the main campus or the smaller St. Luke’s campus. I have shadowing experience in rural medicine, so I thought I could highlight that if I chose St. Luke’s. But, I would also rather be in Philly.

If you'd rather be in Philly, pick Philly. You likely wont be happy in Allentown/Bethlehem. St Luke's has a rural FM residency at one of their facilities up north, but the majority of their locations are, at their worst, suburban. So not really rural, just less urban than Philly. I'm not sure that playing up an interest in rural medicine will be dramatically more effective at St Lukes.

If I were you, I'd pick Philly and extrapolate from your experience: "...shadowing a rural doc has shown me the difference that can be made by access to healthcare, whether rural or urban settings, and the key role I can play in helping the underserved communities which depend on Temple..."
