Does anyone know if UC Irvine sends out "primary application received" email? UCLA did. I haven't heard anything since submitting my primary back in May for UCI.

I did not. I'd double check you actually applied to Irvine on your primary and maybe reach out to them if you feel your stats are somewhat in range

II received Tuesday night at 10pm PST!
IS, Complete 7/14

Does anyone else only have one option for interview date? Or know anything about the one-way video interview we have to do before we interview?

No idea about the one-way video interview, but yes, also had one date assigned to me!

Hmmm. I am going to wait and hope a few more open up. Let me know if you find anything out about the video interview! I wonder if it's like CASPER type questions?

If anyone gets access to the Kira Talent/does it, please quote this or PM me!

How strong is UCI's regional bias for Southern California? I'm from Norcal and I know Davis has a huge bias for Norcal, the Central Valley, and inland empire. Not sure if this applies to UCI or not. Still worth applying from the Bay Area?
Definitely worth applying, I'm not sure how strong their regional bias is but I don't think it's nearly as intense as the one in Davis.

I'm from Northern California and still received an II from UCI, so I feel that it is definitely worth it to apply!

Is UCI still sending out secondaries (or has anyone received one in the last few weeks)?

Anyone else waiting on the UCI secondary? UCSD and UCD sent me one last week, and UCR sent it barely a week after verification. UCI is my only MD school I haven't heard back from yet. Verified 9/3, IS, ORM, MD only. I see a couple MD/PhD applicants have gotten it recently, but any MD applicants still waiting or just got it?

For those who interviewed with PRIME LC, how long/intense was the Spanish interview? Thank u!

45 mins for me. As a native speaker I thought some questions were tough. At one point I was asked to describe my research and discuss my take on health/environmental injustices in the US... but I know of other students who were simply asked what they like to do for fun haha

Can anyone who has done the Kira touch on the level of difficulty of the questions?

Does anyone know if Irvine sends pre-secondary rejections before March? I spoke with a rep at a virtual fair and he said they do send notification of pre-secondary rejection, but he wouldn't give me a timeline....

I haven't gotten a secondary either

to those that got their II's recently, when were you complete??

Back here again to say that I have yet to receive a secondary still, I think I'm going to email admissions today and ask about it

Can you post what their reply is when you get it? I'm not exactly expecting an acceptance from Irvine, but not even getting a secondary definitely surprised me.

Of course! I asked something like: "I have yet to receive a secondary application. Does UCI SOM send out notices of pre-secondary rejections? I submitted my primary application as early as possible in June. If I haven't heard back by now, should I assume that I am not going to receive a secondary?"

And the response was: "All applicants will receive notification once a decision has been made. If you receive no updates, it means your application is still pending. Please continue to regularly check your inbox and spam folder to see if you missed any updates."

Did anyone who has interviewed or received an invite get an email from UCI about filling out Financial Aid and Identity Forms? I found the identity form to be a bit suspicious since it involves sending your social security card...

yes

Is it time to give up now on getting a secondary invite? Verified 7/6. Considered OOS, but I attended UCI for undergrad and grew up in Socal, only moved about a year ago. 515/3.3/URM. Still havent recieved anything yet.
same, IS, went to UCLA. I have low stats so I figured it was because of that, but I'm surprised you didn't get one. I've given up getting a secondary from here. If i do, great. If not, its okay.

I am truly over thinking this but help lol. For the publication update, I would only put the citation and not a blurb about my involvement in the publication?

also wondering this but I have an activities update lol. It seems like there's a 500 character count (with spaces) limit, so I think so?

Not to be reading too closely into things, but does everyone have a UCINet ID now that's based on their name? Also, I can't remember from the interview, does anyone know whether they are going to start releasing decisions on the 15th or later?

Interviewed early September, and I was told that they start releasing decisions in late October (after Oct 15).

Sorry for double post, but if you're talking about on the Status page of the secondary portal, then yes, that has also now appeared for me! Not sure when it appeared, but I used to just have a number-based UCI Student ID.
