It means continual review, which is the name NYU uses for a hold! As others have mentioned, NYU can basically keep applicants on “continual review” until they go through the whole interview cycle (which for them ends in January), and then they start admitting or rejecting applicants from that list. It is possible to get a straight acceptance rather than a hold, but unlike a waitlist, it turns out that 50% of the NYU class comes from a hold and they continue to admit students from the hold all the way up until April (or so I heard from people who applied last year!)

Same interview date, complete date was somewhere between 8/14 and 8/17 and I don’t remember exactly; I submitted everything in July but wasn’t complete until my UG uploaded my committee letter around then

I’ve survived a couple of pre-II waves, but I’m starting to think it’s just random bc I haven’t gotten an interview from any of the schools. Are we sure they look at apps in chronological order? Lol

Same, I survived like 4-5 waves earlier and then got the R a Gtown. have one II but havent seen much in terms of pre-II rejections from that school. Otherwise its been silence. Im hoping that now schools are going in order. But from what I have seen, it seems to be a quick sweep of the apps they want/like, and then they trickle down to everyone leftover

Last year there was one more II wave in mid November, from what I remember.

That’s the point of CR, right? If they weren’t planning on interviewing more people wouldn’t they just give an acceptance or rejection based on their current pool of applicants?

II this morning, complete 7/13. I’m floored as this is only my 3rd II this cycle (last 2 received early sept). Applied to 35 in total and thought I was doomed to be completely ghosted by nearly all the others, especially with all the IIs I’ve been seeing on sdn. Don’t lose hope guys!!!!
